The article Harvest Faire has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable event.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:28, 5 September 2010 (UTC) {{help me}} I need to add the footnotes, but I do not know how to find them and now all my earlier work to make the page is missing. (18:49, 22 December 2011 (UTC)) Argh - I mean that I do not know how to format them[reply]

This is being answered elsewhere, now. See below.  Chzz  ►  19:06, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bringing Back Harvest Faire[edit]

I ran into the same problem your Harvest Faire article had when I started one on Middlefaire. You can check to see what I did to get it considered notable; mostly giving several sources including one of the 20th largest newspapers in America. You might be able to redo the article if you have several sources beyond the Harvest Faire website. I hope this helps! :-) Alden Loveshade (talk) 19:08, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify this a bit more: the Harvest Faire article was deleted because it didn't meet the notability criteria for inclusion - not because of the extra "e". The article cited no sources and came off as little more than an advertisement. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 00:02, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Harvest Faire is unique from the mass-market ren fairs awarded lavish and detailed coverage in Wikipedia in that the event itself was founded as an actual Wiccan Festival celebration by four local Wiccan groups. It is mentioned by name in actual mass-market books. I included the footnote on it in the original article, but the archaic 1980's input style required to be learned in order to present one's footnotes in Wiki could stymie just about anyone. The event then gradually evolved into a Ren Faire like affair, but maintaining an educational and multi-cultural mix you do not see anywhere else in the country and it manages to still produce a very professional show with a - still - all-volunteer cast and crew. I read the so-called reviews and two of the five people commenting mentioned nothing beyond that including the additional "e" itself was reason enough for deletion as far as they were concerned: so much for the quality of the reviews. Harvest Faire is both a part of normalizing cultural transition between the 1970s and today as well as an object lesson in adaptation. It is, as such, much more deserving of inclusion in Wiki than the numerous repeatedly-revived and identical commercial events gushed over for pages in Wikipedia because they have 30,000 attendees a year. I can give more footnotes for articles written about it in both mundane and esoteric publications, but who will encode all that into "wikispeak" for us? RenChickVA (talk) 02:01, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
People here are generally pretty kind about fixing code problems as long as the article doesn't come across like an ad and has notability. The link HelloAnnyong provided may be very helpful to you in determining what's a notable source. The primary thing is having secondary sources. By the way, HelloAnnyong can be very helpful, or I can help with code if you're desperate. If you want me to help, post a notice on my talk page. I'm not the best coder in the world, but some kind soul will probably fix my mistakes. Alden Loveshade (talk) 18:58, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can't find information on how to post a notice on a talk page and the help is not helping on that topic, so I need to put the information here. The user interface for wiki confounds me. I just want to add the outside sources so the wiki can be included. I have a reference from a book and one from each of the two major newspapers in the area. And an outside blog, I have more blogs if those help - they are not by people running the event. Here is what I have: Book: Dancing the Fire by Marian Singer, p.205 Citadel Press/Kensington Publishing Co 2005; Article in The Virginia-Pilot October 21, 2001 Michelle Mizal-Archer and Matthew Jones, “What a difference an “E” Makes”; Article in The Daily Press October 22, 2006 Tamara Dietrich “Ye Olde Faire has its share of Characters”; Blogg review: HamptonRoads.com - Blogger:Sparkling Diversity, October 21, 2006 “Come Ye All to the Harvest Faire”. Can someone help me make these into footnotes? RenChickVA (talk) 01:37, 22 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.183.236.161 (talk) [reply]
