List of Florida state symbols

Inspired by your expansion of the list, I have begun creating an article on the Silver Spur Rodeo, and will be creating articles on some of the other things designated as "official state ..." when I finish the SSR article. The list is going to need to be reconfigured to accommodate some of the changes; if you are willing to help me, could you tackle some of the museums and archives? There are a bunch of them (citrus archive, moving image center and archive, railroad museums—all three of them, and transportation museum), none of which have articles, and none of which have analogues in any other state. There are also a couple of music-related categories (state band and state fiddle contest) which could form a new section if we pulled the song and anthem from the culture section. We could pull the three comestibles (beverage, fruit, and pie) and make a new section for them, and reserve the "culture" section for cultural items such as the state play, state pageant, state opera program, state festival, and state renaissance festival. Then we need to find somewhere to tuck in the state sports hall of fame, state air fair, and state litter control symbol(!), and everything covered by state statutes will be in the article (except for the maritime museum, which got killed, and whose designation will sunset in 2015). After that is accomplished, I'll add a column for a description, which seems to be de riguer for state lists now. Most of the links to the statutes need to be fixed as well, as the state moved stuff around on their server and broke all of the links I added when I created the list in 2007.

Sorry for this huge wall of text, but I will be making a bunch of changes to the list over the next two weeks or so, and I didn't want to blindside the only editor besides me who has given any love to this list. If you don't want to get involved (and I wouldn't blame you), just let me know, but I don't want to butt heads or duplicate efforts in expanding this list. It failed a featured list nomination in 2007; I'd like to rework it and renominate it, as I think it is close to the standard established by List of Indiana state symbols, which went through a Featured List Reassessment and passed, after getting tweaked. With 40 symbols explicitly defined by statute, Florida may have the longest list of symbols of any state, but I think that a few of us working together can make this list shine. Image sizing

Hi! I noticed that you have uploaded some images that are merely resized copies of other images. Did you know that the software is able to resize pictures for you? For example, and are both automatically rescaled from Example.jpg by adding a size parameter: [[File:Example.jpg|30px]]. Thanks for uploading File:Florida Gulf Coast Railroad Museum 1.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. well - i don't see a way to delete the pics and I don't know the license status since i got the 2 pics from Wikipedia. I'm sure there is an easy way to do all this but i'm new and really don't see it.

Yes, there's a lot to learn! You can read about deletion here, but all you need to do is edit File:Florida Gulf Coast Railroad Museum 1.jpg once more and add {{db-self}} at the top. When you "Preview" or "Save", this should display as a big red deletion notice.
