AfD nomination of The Beatnigs
[edit]An editor has nominated The Beatnigs, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Beatnigs and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:59, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
License tagging for File:Adolph H Kayser.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Adolph H Kayser.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Adolph H Kayser.jpeg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Adolph H Kayser.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

- Hi, thanks for the message but I'm afraid there are copyright issues. Unless the image is older than 1896 or the person who took the photo can be identified and died before 1946 then US copyright law is based on date of publication not date of production so it needs to be established that this photo was published prior to 1923 or predates 1896 etc. It being a family picture doesn't help unless it was taken by a member of the family and you are the heir of that person and agree to place the image in the public domain. I am really sorry that it is all so complicated but that is US copyright law for you and not Wikipedia rules. I'd love to see more old images like this in public view but we have to ensure that copyright is respected. Nthep (talk) 09:53, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
