Request reason:

I tried to create a Wikipedia page for one school to help the visitors know about that institute. While making that page, I made a colossal mistake, which was keeping Paid Editing without knowing it. Now I cannot gain access to edit Wikipedia page and got restriction in IP address. I know the block was unnecessary to prevent damage or disruption, which I have made, and I realized my Mistake of violating the policy of Wikipedia. I have read all the policies of Wikipedia and understood my Mistake, why I got blocked from Wikipedia, from onwards, I will not do it again. If it repeats, I am ready to face the consequences for breaking the policy "

Decline reason:

You need to carefully read WP:PROMO, WP:PAID and WP:COI. You will not be unblocked to write about the school. PhilKnight (talk) 15:25, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Ronaldolobscoca". The reason given for Ronaldolobscoca's block is: "I am incredibly sorry that I tried to do a school promotion on the Wikipedia page, misused the template, and tried to edit without logging in and seeing that message. I didn't read any of our guidance while writing an article. I have realized my mistake, and I have read all the terms and policies of Wikipedia, and I won't repeat this mistake from now onwards. I'll be following all the terms and services of Wikipedia and, as a member of Wikipedia, try to contribute something to Wikipedia and be a proudful member of Wikipedia. Please, I request you to unban my IP address and use Wikipedia again.

Decline reason:

You are not autoblocked, you are blocked directly, so you need only worry about your account being unblocked. I'm an administrator and I haven't read all the rules (there are a lot). Right now the most relevant ones are WP:COI and WP:PAID, please read them and make the required disclosure. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your school. If you want to edit about other topics, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request; I will provide instructions on how you can make another below. 331dot (talk) 16:31, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

December 2021

[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

STOP. You've been warned already. You must leave prior declined unblock requests on this page. You are not permitted to remove them. Note also you should read and thoroughly understand WP:GAB before making another unblock request. You've been told you are blocked directly, not autoblocked, but continue to use the wrong unblock template. This is important. You've been abusive before you were blocked and you are being abusive after your block. If this continues, you will lose access to this page. --Yamla (talk) 19:05, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello there, I know we are all having a tough time due to the current pandemic. I hope you Wikipedians are fine, safe, and having a wonderful day. On December 18, 2021, I got an IP address ban. As mentioned in

For: Paid-contribution disclosure

"Paid contributions without disclosure

These terms of use prohibit engaging in deceptive activities, including misrepresentation of affiliation, impersonation, and fraud. As part of these obligations, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. You must make that disclosure in at least one of the following ways:

a statement on your user page, a statement on the talk page accompanying any paid contributions, or a statement in the edit summary accompanying any paid contributions.

I haven't followed the rules and regulations of Wikipedia and have tried to do promotional things without knowing the

"Paid-contribution disclosure" while making a page on Wikipedia and did not follow the terms of service. I have learned that the disclosures required by the terms of use are not regarded as advertisements or promotions, and we are not allowed to do so. They may not advertise or promote their services on Wikipedia.

I was aware of the paid-contribution disclosure and, randomly, i started to create a page for my mistake, and i have learned a very valuable lesson from the paid-contribution disclosure.

For: Conflict of interest

From Conflict of Interest, i have learned what the purpose of Wikipedia is and how to use Wikipedia as a Wikipedian.

I have learned about Editing with a Conflict of Interest, Paid Editing, Wikimedia Foundation Terms of Service, and How to Disclose a Conflict of Interest.

As a student, I am in a learning phase, and i made a huge mistake while making a page for a school as a promotional hub. I know I have been banned for my mistake so that i can learn something from this and never try to do it again in the future. I have learned all the terms and services of Wikpedia, and as a Wikipedian, I try to contribute to the encyclopedia as an educational resource, not as a promotional website, and I follow all the rules and regulations while making the paid contribution with proper guidelines.

Please, I request that you unban my IP address and allow me to use Wikipedia. I will be very grateful to contribute something to the WIkipedia as an Wikipedian. Be Safe, Stay Safe.

Waiting for your reply soon!

Decline reason:

"I have learned that the disclosures required by the terms of use are not regarded as advertisements or promotions, and we are not allowed to do so." This doesn't make sense. How can a disclosure be regarded as an advertisement? I think your problem here is that you're using Google Translate to communicate with us, and the garbled text that it generates is keeping us from effectively communicating. Why don't you try using Wikipedia in your native language? You will have a much better chance of understanding what people are saying to you. Then, once you've got more experience on that project, you can make another unblock request on English Wikipedia and highlight your experience and useful contributions. I think, but I'm not sure, that you're trying to say that you attend this school. But it's not clear because you're constantly talking about COIs and undisclosed editing, which probably wouldn't apply to a student who copy-pasted promotional wording from their school's website. The reason why those words would seem promotional is because they're meant to be promotional – to promote the school and get people to go there. If you're a staff member at the school, then, yes, you'd probably have a COI and have to make a paid editing disclosure. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:16, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
