Hi RYA and welcome, but give WP:ISU a read. :) Best, Sam Sailor Sing 11:45, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thank you, so that account is not allowed then - can you change it to WebSupportRYA

No, that still suggests you are editing on behalf of an organisation, not as an individual. . . Mean as custard (talk) 12:04, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the information - Do you know when this Username change will take effect?

You need to request a new name at Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple. . . . Mean as custard (talk) 09:18, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This was done on Monday

Yes, but the correct spelling, RoyalYachtingAssociation, still violates username policy. Per WP:BADNAME the easiest solution for you is to go and create a new account. Again, have WP:ISU in mind: You can not have an account with the username Press Officer at RYA, but you can have an account with e.g. the username Emma at RYA or Emma at RoyalYachtingAssociation. Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. You may want to follow the advise in Wikipedia:COI declaration. If you have any questions, you can e.g. place the {{Help me}} template here on your talk page like this
{{Help me}}
Your question.

The four tildes "~~~~" will automatically add your signature, which is your username and a timestamp. Best, Sam Sailor Sing 10:27, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you delete this account then please and I will start again - Thanks Sam

The MediaWiki software makes it impossible to delete accounts. Nevertheless, feel free to abandon this account and create a new one using a username that represents you as an individual. hmssolent\You rang? ship's log 02:15, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You should not worry about abandoning this account and simply create a new one. If for any reason you still do, you will need to update your CHUS request and await it being processed. Best, Sam Sailor Sing 05:44, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
