Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Rusyn, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to anounce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.

Finally, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Wikipedia notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Wikipedia or you may just get right into editing.

Again, welcome!--Irpen 07:45, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Babel box ry-1

[edit]

Hi. The Babel box, on FR Wikipedia, is in fr:Template:User rue-1. "rue" as the ISO 639-3 code, as many Babel box codes (some others follow the ISO 639-2 code). "ry" seems to be non existing in the ISO classification for languages. :D I also have prepared, on FR, a subpage of Wikipedia Babel, fr:Wikipédia:Babel/rue, which is ready to show all existing categories and templates for the Ruthenian/Rusyn language (when they will have been created :D...) 47 in Rusyn

[edit]

Hi, I am collecting translations for the number 47 (forty-seven). So far I have 509 translations, which you can see here. Can you help and tell me how to say and write 47 in Rusyn? I'd be most thankful; please reply on my talk page. Thank you! — N-true 15:35, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cut and paste moves

[edit]

Hi. Would you please not perform and cut and paste moves. They lose the article's history, and there is the Special:Move function which was created for that reason. If you wish to rename an article, then go to the talk and propose a move, then wait for others to respond. Best, —dmytro/s-ko/ 19:33, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wild, Crazy, New

[edit]

When she performed at the Vivatel concert in Sofia, on the website of Vivatel it was a list with the songs that were performed by Ruslana and the albums. "Wild Dances" (Wild Dances) , "Dance with the Wolves" (Wild Dances) , "Chardash" (Wild, Crazy, New). Search on the Bulgarian website of vivatel but I'm not sure that the info is still there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Porcina (talkcontribs) 17:14, 28 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

You can find my response here. --Seregelly talk 16:46, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rusyn, before you start creating Carpathian Ruthenia "stub" categories (geography, people, etc.) you must propose it on Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, and after which if there is consensus, you can create the stub category. But currently, there are'nt enough articles to be included in the "geography", "people" stub categories, so it is very unlikely that the proposal will succeed.

If you want, you can also introduce the relevant Slovakia, Hungary, or Poland stubs in addition to the Ukraine stub cat. I just don't know much about Slovakia, Hungary, or Poland to go adding relevant Carpathian Ruthenia articles to the "things you can do" page, so that's why I didn't add them.. —dima/talk/ 17:36, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Rusyn, I appresiate your efforts to tell more about Rusyns in WP articles. In the same time, I would like to bring your attention to the WP policy. Any information you add to the WP articles should be confirmed by reliable sources. Please note that self-published sources are generally not considered as reliable. Please refer to the sourced published by reputative publishers. Thanks.--AndriyK 17:37, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would like also to point out that in a number of articles you reverted a well referenced text with dubious information without any references whatsoever[1][2]. In other instance you exclude Ukrainians altogether [3]. Please do not wage revet wars. If you have a different point of view, express it on the discussion page and start discussing your changes. Making en masse reversions of well-documented facts with POV statements is contrary to the spirit of Wikipedia and will not help. I hope this behaviour changes soon before your behaviour is reported to the admins. --Hillock65 17:59, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, dear friend. I`m really interested in the topice you cover in WP. Please check the article ru:Русины for pictures about Rusyns, they are mostly mine. Please feel free to "order" if you need some other ones :) --Russianname 17:41, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rusyns

[edit]

how many people in Ukraine, do you think, will (could) actually consider themselves as Rusyns after recognizing in our country? --Riwnodennyk 18:21, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well this is very difficult to say. Firstly, as far as I know, Rusyns haven't been recognised at state level in Ukraine. There was just the Parliament of Zakarpattya Province, that voted for recognisning Rusyns as a minority, but ukrainian nationalists still claim this decision to be illegal (they still claim we are a subsubethnos of Ukrainians...) . The Verkhovna Rada hasn't recognised Rusyns yet. During the last census 10100 people are said to have declare themsleves Rusyns. But, as theese results were highly falsified, we can't give precise numbers. In fact, many people that claimed their Rusyn nationality were refused to do so, the final numbers were changed etc... In fact some people in the Ukrainian governement still don't want to have a Rusyn minority on Ukraine land, and in order not to have problems with the international community they just do such miserable things. There is also the matter of propaganda: for 60 years Rusyn children were taught in school that rusyns are just ukrainians that have forgotten it, that their sub-dialect (they called Rusyn language like that)is a peasant thing that must be eradicated... So some Rusyns begun to call themselves Ukrainians, and some call themselves Locals, some other still continue to call themselves Rusyns. According to Rusyn organisation there are in Ukraine approximately 1.2 million Rusyns (counting Lemkos that came just before Operation Wisla). Approximately 400 000 of them say to be Ukrainians, 200 000 are keeping their Rusyn identity and the rest are Local people that speak "понашийму" (in our way). But this numbers can't be certified... Rusyn (talk) 22:24, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hm… what internet-resources or books can you recommend to learn Rusyn language? --Riwnodennyk 16:04, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
as i understood that you are interested in Rusyn wiki, unfortunately i didn't found the subpage of request for it among [4]. can you hint where it is? :) --Riwnodennyk 16:29, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for interrupting...But I wonder, is there any Rusyn Grammar. It seems to me that Rusyns talk as they think it's right, but mostly in different ways...K r i s t o f talk 12:26, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. MfD nomination of Portal:Carpathian Ruthenia

[edit]

Portal:Carpathian Ruthenia, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Carpathian Ruthenia and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Portal:Carpathian Ruthenia during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 02:33, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Carpathian Ruthenia flag.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Redundant to c:File:Flag of Rusyns 2007 without coat of arms.svg

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Matr1x-101 (Ping me when replying) {user page (@ commons) - talk} 14:40, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
