Escalation past level 3

See User talk:Stephen.bedser. The bot gave Level 1, 2 and 3 warnings, then did not escalate further but simply issued a further four L3 warnings. Should it not go on to Level 4 and then report at AIV as some bots do? Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:50, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi John, this was discussed in the errors section, but it just got archived (here's a link). Basically, as I said there, it's always made sense to me to not report to AIV (and therefore not escalate the warning past level 3), because by re-adding the CSD tag the bot is already requesting an admin to look at the situation, so there's not much benefit to using AIV, and a slight risk that the bot will make erroneous reports (i.e. it doesn't seem worth it, although it would be fairly easy technically). - Kingpin13 (talk) 06:21, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, up to you, but I don't see any problem with it reporting to AIV, even if it sometimes gets it wrong - MrZ-Bot quite often reports false positives, and nobody minds (at least, I don't). If you're not going to AIV, then it makes sense to stick at L3, because you don't want to issue a string of L4 "This is your last warning" messages. I guess such a long string won't occur often - CAT:CSD has been heavily backlogged the last few days, over 100 most of the time, so there were long delays. I don't understand why this article have delete tag? Please let me know how to remove delete tag. Footwiks (talk)

Hi Footwiks. You should not remove the tag yourself, since you created the page. However, I've removed it for you as it doesn't seem to be about a website. Despite this, I am not convinced the page meets our standards for inclusion, and it needs some work cleaning up and establishing notability. - Kingpin13 (talk) 13:28, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
