Citation suggestion[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to the BRCA1 article. If you haven't seen this yet, please check out User:Diberri's Wikipedia template filling tool (instructions). Given a PubMed ID, one can quickly produce a full citation that can be copied and pasted into a Wikipedia article. This tool can save you a lot of work and ensure that the citations are displayed in a consistent manner. Cheers. Boghog (talk) 19:22, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note. The tool is presently down, but Dave Iberri is working to get it back up. Boghog (talk) 05:20, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Tool is now back up. Boghog (talk) 06:34, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BRCA1 article[edit]

Hi. Again, thanks for your contributions to the BRCA1. A couple of notes. Per WP:CITEVAR, the Vancouver System has already been established so new citations added to the article should conform to that style. Per WP:REFPUNC, citations come after punctuation. In addition, it is helpful to include pmid and doi parameters in citations as it helps readers quickly locate the original article that is being cited (the template filling tool that I mentioned above automatically does this). Also self links back to the article should not normally be included (i.e., links to BRCA1 should not be included in the BRAC1 article, see Help:Self link). I have made the above fixes to the text that you have added to the article. If you want to make additional edits to the text you have added, please edit the existing text rather re-add your text. Twice now you have added duplicate text and twice now I have removed that duplicate text. Thanks. Boghog (talk) 05:18, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
