User talk:SWISSTOURS
A tag has been placed on your user page, User:SWISSTOURS, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. John from Idegon (talk) 09:02, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:SWISSTOURS
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:SWISSTOURS, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Contested deletion
[edit]This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --SWISSTOURS (talk) 09:08, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi
I am new to Wikipedia and would like to have information about my company on Wikipedia e.g Thomas Cook Company. Please assist how I can achieve the same.
Thanks - Clayton
You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a business listing directory, or a place for companies to tell the world about themselves.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 10:40, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
I blocked your account because Wikipedia accounts are for individuals only, who are personally responsible for them, and accounts whose names are the names of companies or groups are not permitted. Your username may be based on your real name, or not, as you choose (see WP:REALNAME for some considerations), but it should not be the name of any other living person. A username of the form "Clayton at Swisstours" would be acceptable, and would serve to declare your affiliation.
Even with an individual username, in any editing to do with Swisstours or its business or its competitors you would have, from Wikipedia's point of view, a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and should carefully read that guideline and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. In brief, you should not edit directly, but may propose a draft for consideration. Note that you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use ("Paid contributions without disclosure" under section 4), and in some jurisdictions by laws against covert advertising, to disclose your interest in any edits where you have a COI.
COI editing is discouraged because COI editors find it hard to write in the neutral tone required. What you wrote was obviously the company telling the world about itself: "Our strength... our well travelled, friendly and professional personnel... our clients have the most memorable experience..." That was not an encyclopedia article, it was an advertisement, and anything like that is deleted from Wikipedia at sight. An article like Thomas Cook Group is describing the history and nature of the company, not puffing its services, and was not written by "User:Thomas Cook Group."
For more advice, see User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard, and note that to be acceptable, any draft will need to give references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" to establish WP:Notability. JohnCD (talk) 10:56, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
