Request for speedy deletion of User:Ronniericketts/Ronnie Ricketts
[edit]I just submitted a speedy deletion request for the user page User:Ronniericketts/Ronnie Ricketts but you denied it because you said, "the user exist and it is not a user page?" IT IS a User page because the word "USER:" in the title of the article tells you that is is a user page. The tab on top of the page tells you it is a user page. It is a user page written as an article which is in violation of WP:UP#NOT and WP:UP#COPIES. The user is using his user page as an article page which is a violation of WP:UP#NOT. If you check the history page specifically September 2, 2011, this user page belonged to several categories, which is a violation of WP:USERNOCAT, i.e., a user page cannot be categorized.
If you check the User and his contributions page, he only contributed to only one page, which is his own user page, User:Ronniericketts/Ronnie Ricketts, and it is only for one day, February 5, 2010 and that is it. Therefore, he is not a real Wikipedia user but a bogus user who only contributed to this user page for self-promotion. At the bottom of the page is a link, an invitation to his Facebook page. Perhaps he is a new user, but keeping a draft of an article page on a user page is also violation of WP:UP#COPIES. So, please DELETE the user page. Thanks. - Briarfallen (talk) 22:39, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
- I know it's a userpage, the message you received was automated (I user WP:CSDH). The first part of the message was appropriate, however: this user exists, although he has just edited his userspace, so deletion under U2 is inappropriate. The page most definitely violates WP:FAKEARTICLE, but that is not a speedy deletion criterion, so you'll have to go through WP:MFD, I'm afraid. Cheers. Zeeshan Mian
[edit]Hi Salvio,
I am new to this and this is my first article.
Where did I go wrong and what should I delete to make the article suitable?
All the Best
Ireanne
- Hello Ireanne. I'm sorry, but the tone of your article was inappropriate: sentences like is one of the top Solicitor Advocates in England and Wales or the "professional expertise" section violate one of Wikipedia policies, namely WP:NPOV, which requires articles to be neutrally worded. It also was way too detailed, containing many unencyclopaedic details. Assuming Zeeshan meets Wikipedia's notability requirements — in short, he has received significant coverage in reliable, third-party sources —, you should try to condense it and word it much more neutrally.I see you have created a draft in your userspace; this is very good, because this will prevent the article from being speedily deleted, while you're working on it. My advice would be to render it more WP:NPOV-compliant and, then, ask for feedback at WP:FEEDBACK. That's a noticeboards where experienced users help newcomers and provide suggestions on how to improve your drafts. Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 22:22, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
How can this happen? Cheers, Racconish Tk 10:14, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
- Blocked users are generally allowed to edit their talk page, so as to request an unblock or ask why they were blocked; if they misuse this privilege, it can be revoked. When I blocked this kid, I allowed him to edit his talk page; should he repeatedly misuse it again, I'll reblock, removing his ability to do that. Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 22:26, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
- Of course, it makes sense to leave this option.Racconish Tk 06:01, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Request to move "Rusty Dragons" article being drafted in "RustyDragons" user area to "TiberiusKlink" user area
[edit]I created the RustyDragons userid in error, not realizing the policy. I wanted to write a wiki article on the Rusty Dragons and ask that the article i started under that account be moved if possible to my TiberiusKlink userid (that is my nickname). Is that possible? Or at least e-mail me the html I created so I can paste it into the new account. But I need to make sure I can create a "Rusty Dragons" article without any name conflict with the previous one.
Thanks, Tim (Tim@RustyDragons.ca)
- I'd be glad to restore the article and move it in your userspace or send you a copy of it by email, just tell me what you prefer — if you choose the former, however, I'd like to ask you to respond with your TiberiusKlink userid —. That said, I fear Rusty Dragons does not meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. To qualify for inclusion, a subject must have received significant coverage in reliable, third-party sources. After restoring your draft, I suggest you ask for feedback here. Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 17:49, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Expired afd
[edit]These two Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Carmine Avellino and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Peter Gruenwald are expired. Is there a category for expired afd? --Vic49 (talk) 20:41, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
- Not that I know of; all AfD are listed on a daily log and when the seven days are up, administrators check the relevant log, such as this, and start closing discussions. Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:24, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

- You're of course welcome to translate en.wiki articles to Italian; you have, however, to preserve attribution. To do so, you can either ask an it.wiki admin to import the page for you, which is rather bulky or, alternatively, indicate, in your edit summary, thatthe article is a translation of an en.wiki page, providing a link to the article's edit history. And the new name of the section is perfect. . Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:09, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Nomination of James Episcopia for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article James Episcopia is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Episcopia (3rd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. DonCalo (talk) 18:26, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
4a.m. (novel) is noteworthy enough
[edit]Hi Salvio,
I would suggest that this is notable enough of a work to merit a wiki page. I've added some references which show that the book has been reviewed in the UK national press: it is also a serious literary work, published by a bona-fide publisher (whose other books have won many prizes and favourable press reviews), which may in time become the subject of academic research and wide public interest.
Hope this is OK? Feel free to email me at if any further queries.

Iberian cattle
[edit]Hi Salvio, you deleted Iberian cattle, a new article started by an inexperienced user. I appreciate that the article met the letter of WP:CSD#A3, but please keep in mind that deleting articles on encyclopedic topics is a major source of user frustration and hurts our public image. I hope you'll be more careful in the future. Thanks, Melchoir (talk) 01:30, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- It's not a matter of carefulness; an unsourced article constisting only of Iberian cattle is a large iberian cattle breed is rather superfluous and, as you acknowledge, perfectly fits criterion A3. Salvio Let's talk about it! 02:49, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sure, it's superfluous for you and me. But it does no harm either, and it was apparently important enough for someone to go to the trouble of creating it. In this period of Wikipedia's history, when editor retention is plummeting and a generation of readers thinks there's nothing left to contribute, not biting the newbies is more important than aggressively pursuing every punitive policy in the book.
