Replaceable fair use Image:Chokebore.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Chokebore.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 18:08, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Samugariya --- would you please keep these links and track listing, I specifically put them up because info on Chokebore is not that prevalent and wiki provides a central location --- wiki rules / nonrules notwithstanding. I was specifically interested in the album Motionless, track listings and any relevant info because I specifically and actively followed the band in that timeframe. Let me know if you have any issues otherwise and we can discuss. 10stone5 (talk) 19:02, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello 10stone5, thanks for writing. I understand you are interested in Motionless, but I do not find a copy-paste of the album's tracklisting in the discography section to add any value to the page, first of all because the page is about the band itself, second because the album lacks notability, third because IMHO it makes the discography too long to read (unless maybe if the tracklisting were to be collapsed), and fourth because it breaks the consistency of the discography since the other albums are not given the same treatment. IMHO the Chokebore page needs a better biography and some good references, not copypasta of tracklistings that can be found on many other websites such as Discogs.com, Last.fm, as well as the Chokebore official website (www.chokebore.net) which is listed at the bottom of the page. Also, if you're going to do something for one album, I think you should do the same for all the others for the sake of consistency. For quite the same reasons, I don't find a link to the Motionless article on French Wikipedia to add value, especially since it is not in the same language as the actual page. I see you have already reverted my reverts of your edits... I don't think reverting you reverts of my reverts would lead to anything, so instead I'll ask you to please consider creating a Wiki page dedicated to the album Motionless, to avoid adding "bloat" (hate to sound derogatory but can't find any nicer word, sorry) to the band page, and give the data you are interested in a relevant home. What do you think? I'm happy to discuss this. Thanks, Samugariya (talk) 11:39, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
