Speedy deletion nomination of Narborough island tortoise[edit]

Hello Saturn301,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Narborough island tortoise for deletion, because it doesn't seem to have any encyclopedic content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Celestinesucess (talk) 15:14, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Followup[edit]

Hi Saturn301, I've redirected the page you greated to Subspecies of Galápagos tortoise, which (I think) covers all of what you were trying to add. It appears from that page that we generally don't create articles on specific subspecies, but instead describe them on that page instead. If I missed any new info you added, you can add that to the overall subspecies page. or, let me know here if you disagree with the redirect. I'll leave you a welcome template below with some info on editing here. Sorry the start as rocky, and welcome. --Floquenbeam (talk) 16:37, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • You can't seem to catch a break; one of our "bots", which tries to revert vandalism, reverted your two recent edits. I've clarified those aren't vandalism, but neither one was correct, I'm afraid. Foxes is an overview article about several species, some of whom are not threatened, and some of whom are. And, looking at otheer dinosaur articles, we don't bother listing dinosaur species as "extinct", as that would be kind of unnecessary clutter. Let me know if you run into further bot troubles; I just happened to see this show up on your talk page here, but am not online all the time. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:02, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Could you slow down a little? I understand there's a learning cureve here sometimes, but as a result people keep having to undo things you've done. You can't just copy a whole article to another page, like you did at Croatian Puma. Most of that article isn't applicable, and it's a copyright violation. And while Basilewsky's cranefly seems to be a real thing that doesn't appear to have an article, we can't really leave it in the state it's in now. If you'd like to ease into this, I can move Basilewsky's cranefly into your personal sandbox area, where you can fiddle with it, compare it to other articles, learn to format in peace, etc. But as you've seen, trying to dive in headfirst into article writing can lead to frustration. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:15, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
