Notability

There are a number of issues that need to be addressed in adding an individual to an article. The main one is notability. Notability of living people is established by reference to reliable and verifiable sources, such as from books, newspapers and magazines. None have been added for Scott Bernstein. The Martindale-Hubbell link establishes Bernstein as a lawyer, but not as a notable; All attorneys are not notable. If you can provide reliable, independent sources about Bernstein that establish notability, I will be happy to help put them into the correct format. I would also suggest, based on your user name and edit history, that you review Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy. As shown above, failure to respect these policies may be treated as vandalism. I replied to you on my talk page, but I like to try to keep conversations all in one place (and this is the best place for this conversation)... If you read WP:V, what we are looking for are third party reliable sources. Newspaper articles, or books written about you (the subject). Also, a general guideline (not really a rule or policy) that a number of editors follow is that you would need to have your own article to qualify for any 'notable lists'. If you do have a number of reliable sources, showing notability, then you could create an article here in your userspace (User talk:Scottinsocal/sandbox for example), and if notability and verifiability are shown, I'll help you write it, clean it up, etc... Just a note though, you need to be extra careful writing an article about yourself due to conflict of interest concerns... - Adolphus79 (talk) 17:37, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
