Orphaned non-free media (Image:LogoContinente.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:LogoContinente.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 15:09, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: 1896 Krag Bolt Action (Image:M1896 Krag Action.png)

It is an image from the Smithsonian Institute...

Copied and pasted the Smithsonian website, under Copyright section:

FAIR USE IS PERMITTED

Fair use of copyrighted material includes the use of protected materials for non-commercial educational purposes, such as teaching, scholarship, research, criticism, commentary, news reporting, and other content. Unless otherwise noted, users who wish to download or print text and image files from this Web site for such uses may do so without the Smithsonian Institution’s express permission, provided that they comply with the following conditions:

1. The content may only be used for personal, educational or noncommercial purposes; 2. Users must cite the author and source of the content as they would material from any printed work; 3. The citation must include all copyright information and other information associated with the content and the URL for the Smithsonian Institution website; 4. None of the content may be altered or modified; 5. Users must comply with all other terms or restrictions which may be applicable to the individual file, image or text;

If what I have already used is not good enough, I don't know what is. The rationale is that it is used for the purpose of education.

If that bothers you, I can always waste my time and take a picture of my Krag's bolt. Then it would be my intellectual property. Would that be a satisfactory solution?

Thank You, William R Wade (talk) 15:56, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't remember of this image but if this image was deleted it was because it didn't follow the Wikipedia:Non-free content rules. Don't forget to always add a source and copyright information. If an image is under fair use don't forget to add a fair use rationale. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 20:24, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
It was removed back in July, apparently. I don't really spend a whole lot of time logged into Wikipedia, except if I happen to find blatant vandalism or grossly disorganized text which I think that I might be able to clear up. I just happened to catch the notification(s) after I logged in to repair some vandalism found on another topic. Apparently, I didn't complete the documentation of the picture properly. However, I have posted a new picture that is my sole creative work, and the information should be complete and in order. Thank you for the heads-up. An article you created is about to be deleted: Tools which can help you

The article you created, Johanna_Jussinniemi is about to be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster your respond, the better chance the article you created can be saved. This is because deletion debates only stay open for a few days, and the first comments are usually the most important.

There are several tools and other editors who can help you keep the page from being deleted forever:

  1. You can list the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. If you need help listing your page, add a comment on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain to you all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted, here: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond on the deletion page.
  3. When try to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list of your own acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
Acronyms in deletion debates are sometimes incorrectly used, or ignore rules or exceptions.
  4. You can merge the article into a larger article.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 18:13, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Anita Blond

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Anita Blond, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No reliable sources. No Assertion of WP:Notability. Fails WP:PORNBIO.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Proposed David Guetta Edit

Need to be an edit of David Guetta page. Perhaps you can clean it up for wiki-readiness and edit the page with adding this content:

there are many new sources verifying the story and its noteworthiness, and even the Broward Palm Beach Newspaper, and a highly respected online journal in House Planet reported on it... check the sources, and there are follow up interviews with joachim garraud and tocadisco, 2 of david's confidents. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Canuckdj (talkcontribs) there is also a video on davidguetta.com called 'everytime we touch v2' which clearly shows joachim garraud sitting at the studio controls with david simply watching on not playing a note consistent with the citations below. [1]

In 2008, he was elected as World DJ No. 5 and best house DJ by the British DJ Mag.[2], however, this ranking and his repûtation is under media and public scrutiny after it was revealed that David Guetta, despite public interviews noting that it was him alone composing and producing his work[3] was 'neither a musician nor a technicial' and that at the time of the release of albums "Just A Little More Love" and "Guetta Blaster", according to credited co-producer Joachim Garraud whom takes credit for the composition and programming of both albums[4], David "did not even own or know how to use a computer". [5][6].One article dissects and compares his situation to that of Milli Vanilli as the face but not talent behind the music they perfom, and includes damning interviews of Guetta collaborators Joachim Garraud, DJ Tocadisco.[7]

A tag has been placed on Template:DanniGirls_of_the_Month_of_2008, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Template:DanniGirls_of_the_Month_of_2008 and leave a note on [[Talk:Template:DanniGirls_of_the_Month_of_2008|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

My thoughts about an edit of yours

Hi. Since you are a very active editor I would like to share some thoughts concerning this edit of yours. IMO, this talk page doesn't really require a talkheader. The subject is not controversial, it's probably a talk page of a low traffic article, etc. Moreover, DEFAULTSORT usually is covered by |listas= in WPBiography and thus not really needed. I know that these things are very minor and as far I can see you are doing very good job in Wikipedia but I thought I had to share my thoughts with you. Happy editing! -- Magioladitis (talk) 14:41, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of List of DanniGirls

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of DanniGirls. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of DanniGirls. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Vogue0505.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Vogue0505.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. +Angr 11:50, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

The article Renee Perez has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:PORNBIO, no indication the subject caan satisfy the GNG or any other specialized guideline, no apparent relevant GNews hits (common name)

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:32, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
