Hi,

Speedy deletion nomination of User:SeventhHell/Catherine Kevin
[edit]A tag has been placed on User:SeventhHell/Catherine Kevin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
G12: Unused, unattributed copy of David Eppstein. See WP:UP#COPIES.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 23:12, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
Help me! Why am I nominated for speedy deletion?
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Please help me with not being speedily deleted. I haven't used my account for a very long time because last time I tried I'd been blocked - because of the activity of an IP linked to my account (?). And I have a 10 year old son, so that answers that. Since when were IPs grounds for blocking? How far does this Big Brother stuff go? The copy from David Eppstein was never published, its a draft in some sandbox somewhere, if I could edit I'd go delete it.
SeventhHell (talk) 10:56, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
Actually I just checked my block log and I'm still block free, so it's unclear why I've been unable to edit. SeventhHell (talk) 11:01, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- To avoid another speedy like the one in the section above, see Wikipedia:User pages#COPIES. As for the block, see Wikipedia:Autoblock. If you still have questions after reading the two pages, feel free to reopen this help request. 78.28.45.127 (talk) 11:16, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
Great so it seems my autoblock has ended. So where is this copied stuff that is the problem? I can't find it. SeventhHell (talk) 12:37, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- If you mean User:SeventhHell/Catherine_Kevin, it's been deleted. In the future, if you copy another Wikipedia page into your userspace, make sure to use an edit summary that provides a link to the Wikipedia page you copied and a clear explanation of why you copied it. As a rule of thumb, you shouldn't keep such copies in your userspace for more than 24 hours without a good reason. 78.28.45.127 (talk) 13:07, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. Yeah ummm, so you do know that was about 9 or 10 years ago, right? I understand that perhaps it is difficult now that people like me have stopped editing and left rubbish lying around - that is slack of me! Deleting we older editors isn't gonna help, nor are retrospective accusations about something which the rules have since changed a dozen times and evidence destroyed - that's not natural justice of the Wikipedia I edited for - so my sympathies to current editing environment. Glad I can edit again! thanks, :) SeventhHell (talk) 14:53, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
