Same group-82G
[edit]Hi Ryan, Doug C here. Nice to meet you....According to the course page (group listing at the bottom) for the Wikipedia Assignment, I think we're team mates. I hope I'm correct. Let me know, and we can begin to communicate and fulfill Assignment 3 requirements.DougCovert (talk) 04:09, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Doug, nice to meet you too. Definitely looks like we are team mates! Sharkeyr (talk) 19:21, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Ryan, Okay great! Do you have a "sandbox" pg? I guess we need to put it as part of our watchlist. DougCovert (talk) 19:52, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know if this helps at all, but it's what I copied from the top of my page so you may be able to search it User:Sharkeyr/sandbox. I'm sorry, I'm a complete wikipedia novice.Sharkeyr (talk) 20:20, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- Found it, and I have added it to my watchlist. Great, looks as though we're underway.DougCovert (talk) 00:17, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

- I don't think you need to add each other's sandbox pages to your watchlists. The main user page would be fine. Sandbox pages really are just for each individual to experiment with things in however they want to. Klortho (talk) 01:32, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Hi Ryan, Doug C here.... I see that your onto the second stage of Unit 5 assigment. As am I. I was thinking that maybe we assess some articles of which one may be the article we DO change. I've quickly looked at four that have peaked my interest: Frameshift mutation, N-terminus, Rec A & Ribsomal RNA. What do you think??DougCovert (talk) 04:39, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
- That sounds good to me, I chose 2 that I have some outside interest in as well, hoping that that might make it slightly easier to find information on for updating the article, I also chose frameshift mutation, and also coding DNA.Sharkeyr (talk) 16:49, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
- Okay. I justed finished assessing N-terminus and Ribosomal RNA. I'm still open to others but I think these four are interesting...thoughts? Oh, what's your JHU email, so we can have a second means of communicating. Thanks.DougCovert (talk) 20:44, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm ok with doing any of them. How did you get your references to list like that? I cannot get mine to work! My jhu email is rsharke1@jhu.edu Sharkeyr (talk) 23:30, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

- Hi, Doug C, just a note: when you started this new conversation, it would have been better to start it as a new section, because it is a completely different topic. Klortho (talk) 10:48, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I see you edited the articles page to claim "Frameshift mutation". You need to edit "82X" to your group number in *two places*, and you only did one. See if you can fix it, please. (Hint: the link to your group page, after the edit, should not be red.) Klortho (talk) 14:58, 3 March 2013 (UTC) ğ
- Thanks for the heads up! I think it is fixed now. Sharkeyr (talk) 17:43, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Frameshift mutations.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Frameshift mutations.jpg, which you've attributed to http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/understandingcancer/cancergenomics/page18. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 13:30, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

File:Frameshift mutations.jpg missing description details
[edit]is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.
If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 08:25, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Disambiguation link notification for April 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Frameshift mutation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ORF (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
