- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}
Beautiful picture of Jama Masid but it might be better placed in Indo-Islamic architecture
[edit]Your edit to the Islam page was under art and culture, although that mosque is large and impressive. It isn't a unique style or a first of its type. It's also not a core principle for all Muslims like one of the great 3 Pilgrimage sites.
India is a relatively secular Hindu country and not a Muslim country nor does it have a collective history for all Muslims, so the architecture of the Jama Masid has not influenced all of Islam the same way the Prophets mosque or Kaaba has.
I recommend first bringing up the subject in the Islam Talk page first, for consensus as to whether it should be added, otherwise the page will become full of pictures of mosques around the world.
Again, there is a wiki for pictures of Islamic architecture. Indo-Islamic architecture RCSCott91 RCSCott91 (talk) 17:10, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
