Future reference on Indian football clubs.

[edit]

Just for future reference because I have nominated you page (South United Football Club) for deletion (via PROD) so let me tell you why so you dont make the mistake in the end. According to WP:FOOTYN the club needs to play or had played in a national level tournament. In the case of India that would be 4 competitions. The I-League, I-League 2nd Division, Federation Cup, and Durand Cup. Unless the club plays or had played in 1 of these 4 then they are not notable enough. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 10:59, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also it seems you edit a lot of football articles overall, well before you create anymore pages I highly recommend you look at WP:FOOTYN and WP:NFOOTY. These are the guildlines to notability for football pages on wikipedia. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 10:59, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha I just reread what I wrote. Ya, I did sound a little harsh which is not what I wanted to do. I just wanted to tell you about the rules set in place. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 11:15, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, since you now know the article is not notable, can you add this template... db-g7 (instead of [[ ]] on the sides add {{ }}. Click edit to understand what I am talking about.) This will make the article be deleted within 24 hours instead of 10 days (as currently posted). Also when the team names for the 2013 I-League 2nd Division are posted I shall notify you if South United FC are part of that list so you can create it. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 11:25, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers mate. Also if you want practice creating club articles try maybe Eastern Railway FC of the 2012-13 Calcutta Premier Division who played in the Federation Cup in 1997 (Source: [1]). Cheers and hope you enjoy wikipedia. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 11:49, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Clark (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
