Requesting some article expansion help[edit]

Greetings,

Requesting you to visit article Draft:Aurats (word) and help expand the same.

Changes to article Aurat made by you may not be totally wrong but international Wikipedians would not understand your logic as of now so presently working on Draft:Aurats (word) is a better option.

Bookku, 'Encyclopedias = expanding information & knowledge' (talk) 12:21, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was just coming here to suggest that you might like to help develop Draft:Aurats (word). I have reverted your destructive change to Aurat, which is a valid disambiguation page. PamD 15:50, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And your edits to Aurat (1967 film) were inappropriate: I have reverted you and, I think, added the content you were trying to add. PamD 16:00, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • No, a disambiguation page is not the place for information about the word itself. Create Aurat (word) if you want, and if you have appropriate sources. PamD 16:40, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@PamD: In medieval times when invading armies / war lords used word Aurat in insulting manner to native women and slave women then that might have been stage of real derogatory use and still natives probably unaware of such derogatory intentions seems to have adopted word 'Aurat' as an authentic translation. Probably Turkish and Persians used in derogatory sense for non elite women first, so they were first to drop the usage too. Though most linguists might be aware of origin of word South Asians literates were not much aware of derogatory sense may be till beginning of 21st century. Large populations of commoners in South Asia still might not be aware of medieval time derogatory usage. Medieval time derogatory usage does not mean it was used always in insulting manner rather the word acquired largely respectful usage in later centuries in South Asia. Since we blocked article on Aurat as woman global audience can not have opportunity to have a nuanced understanding.
Thanks anyways Bookku, 'Encyclopedias = expanding information & knowledge' (talk) 18:05, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Aurat, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Your repeated addition of an external link on a disambiguation page is becoming disruptive. Please stop. Thanks. PamD 17:29, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Aurat. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Please: stop adding inappropriate link to a disambiguation page. Start a page at Aurat (word) where you can discuss the word using your authoritative sources. PamD 12:28, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blue warning icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. - wolf 15:12, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
