AfC notification: Draft:Monazite geochronology has a new comment

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Monazite geochronology. Thanks! Robert McClenon (talk) 04:12, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Some of these could be drawn by you to look like a real image. They could be used to illustrate the article, even if you could not get real data from them. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:39, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Non free images

[edit]

Hello SkylYip. Sorry I did not tell you more about this before. There are ten criteria that have to be met in the WP:NFCC. The main one that all your images fail to meet is number 1 "No free equivalent". In all the cases if you had the equipment, and some monazite, you could produce similar images that would serve the purpose. In practice non-free images can be used for covers/packaging of films, books, music; logos; photos of dead people that can no longer be photographed; and historic things that do not exist any more. I don't know if your university has the equipment to take x-ray photographs, ot the other micrographs in the pictures you had, but you could certainly draw a new histogram or graph. Even though the publisher gave permission for use on Wikipedia, so that you did not breach copyright, all the subsequent uses have to be permitted too. So we need "free" image license. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:38, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your point. I am trying to seek some help from my university, or produce illustration by myself. Thank you so much.SkylYip (talk) 01:24, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, SkylYip. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
