I am trying to add a catagory to consolidate the many aspects of these devices. Guidence requested

May need some help, as this is new to me. I think the broader subtopic of Applied arts and sciences/Transport/Rail transport/Train Inspection Systems will give better structure to the topic. I sit on a group formed under the Association of American Railroads-AAR C38 subcommittee called Detector Users Group that includes all the major North American carriers and equipment manufactures. With this Rolodex, we may be able to make a major contribution.

Well, in case it hasn't been said yet, welcome! I took a quick look at your draft article and it's a great start to an article on the subject. There are a number of style changes that could be made to improve it and bring it more in line with Wikipedia's current manual of style, but the more important effort is accurate content that is well-referenced to reliable sources which you've already begun. For examples of other railroad-related articles that have been peer reviewed and designated as high quality articles, take a look at the articles in the featured rail transport articles and good rail transport articles categories. Right now the majority of our FA/GA content deals with historical topics, but I for one would welcome high quality articles on modern rail technologies.

I always hesitate to edit article drafts that are in user space, but as you've already approached me on the subject, it seems to me that you might not mind if I jump in and make a few changes later (it's my son's birthday today, so I won't be able to devote much time to it right now).

As a side note, I don't know if you've seen my personal railroad website yet: The Rip Track. There are a couple of projects I'm working on there that are beyond the scope of Wikipedia articles (like the Wisconsin railroad timeline, podcast and who's who list) and I'm always looking for more and better reference materials.

As soon as this page can stand public eyes, we are ready to move it there. I don't know how to do that. I will look at style stuff even though I have no style. Your injection in this realm in desired and the help much appreciated. Maybe I do better this time, rather than build a null public site to start with and get it deleted. I do not know if the world will weigh in on this subject but if they do. I see a dozen or so quality technical pages in this subject. On the history aspect, I know a guy who has developed a history of the development so some of these devices, I will inquire if he might want to work that into this endeavor. My Train Inspection Systems page is moved. I started a link to it in rail transport, and moved it from my personal page into the production environment so others in the industry can start to revise and extend my remarks. your understanding of style issues and any input here is greatly appreciated.SwalleyD (talk) 04:41, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

TWP template for UK (again)

Hi. Once again, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways are discussing the possibility of a separate UK project template. A link to the previous discussions has now been added, and the last comments then were added by you, musing on the possibility of TWP template changes that would allow templates for subprojects to be visually different.
