Citation errs

Hi Slambo, how do I or what do I use to correct mutiple citations to read ^a b c d e...?Rstory (talk) 11:49, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Rstory, check out repeated citations czar  12:52, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, the page Czar linked to has the gory details. Basically, in one of the <ref> tags for a citation that you want to repeat, you specify a name (such as <ref name="Author1Ref">{{citation ...}}</ref>), then when you want to use it again use the short form pf the reference as simply <ref name="Author1Ref" />. One strategy that I use for pages that will reference the same citations frequently is to use the refs= parameter of {{reflist}} as described in Help:List-defined references. Doing this allows me to make a list with all of the reference details at the end of the article and sets up the named ref tags for me to use in the article text. Two recent examples of this that I have worked on are the articles for Edward L. Moyers and Howard G. Kelley. Putting the refs in a list at the end helps me keep them organized where I can quickly see if I've already listed any specific citation and also reduces the amount of template text within the article content.
Also check out Help:References and page numbers for references that cite works where only the page number is different. There are a few strategies that can be used here. Slambo (Speak) 13:52, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
