Protection templates
Just a note that adding protection templates to pages (as you have done here and here) does not protect the page. You need to be an administrator to protect pages. You can request that pages be protected at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Hut 8.5 12:56, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Matt Heaffy
Um, you just tagged my talk page with a vandalism notice concerning the Matt Heafy page. To the best of my knowledge I have corrected the spelling of his band Capharnaum (you have mistakenly changed it back to Capaharnaum) and removed the clear vandalism relating to Heafy's love of 'gay anal sex'. You appear to have simply restored this vandalism. So, sorry: Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Matt Heafy, you will be blocked from editing. - If you had bothered to check the edit history before slapping me down: [1]. You'll notice I was in the process if reverting a series of minor vandalisms. You however are simply being unhelpful. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 15:44, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Women in the Victorian era: You may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you.StaticGull Talk 16:46, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Xbox Live Marketplace. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. AP Shinobi (talk) 15:06, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Shinobi, it's best not to template the regulars. StaticGull's removal of that section was supported by consensus. The section is poorly written, POV and has no references. xenocidic (talk) 15:20, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Fitna/schism AsD
In the International_reaction_to_Fitna post, you undid my post with the comment "see afd discussion..." You'll have to help me out, I'm not familiary with wikipedia/internet acronyms- what does AfD stand for? thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jehan60188 (talk • oops, forgot to sign- jehan60188

- Oh, I'm sorry about that. I thought I was removing it from the Fitna (film) article. Please feel free to repost the information you submitted. By "AfD" I was refferring to Articles for Deletion, more specifically the Schism (film) page, where Schism (film) was deemed unnotable. I hope I haven't offended you by undoing your edit. New message
Hello,
What was the change I supposedly made?
I have never editted an article on wikipedia in my life.
Signed,
An (98.202.134.64)
- It will have probably been the person who had your IP address before you that made the edit. StaticGull Talk 12:17, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
How would that have worked? What was the change that they made?
Signed, An —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.202.134.64 (talk) 17:57, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- It's common for an IP address to change between 'owners'. Usually when you disconnect from the internet (by turning off your router or otherwise) for about 5 minutes, your IP address changes. The change that the former 'owner' of the IP address made can be found here. StaticGull Talk 11:52, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

an overdue apology
I handled our previous encounter very poorly; using a condescending and snooty manner. I would like to extend my apologies to you for not assuming good faith, as well as for not apologizing sooner. J.delanoygabsadds 19:33, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Your comment at Talk:Fitna (film)
Hi StaticGull. On Talk:Fitna (film), an anon recently posted a comment in which he/she stated that the goal of the media and academics is "the destruction of the West", but that "they are too blind to see the horror of Islam". You replied that you agreed on that. Could you explain what you meant with this? Cheers, Face 21:01, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- It is just that it seems as though Wikipedia is (at least thinking of) trading in some of its NPOV to become more "muslim-friendly". It seems logical to me that if Wikipedia uses "Sun Tzu" instead of "Sun Zi", "Koran" should be used instead of "Qur'an". StaticGull Talk 11:39, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

this is not damaging the work of others it is Freedom of speech. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.98.184.19 (talk) 15:10, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see how this can be seen as constructive. Try not to make personal attacks in your future edits. StaticGull Talk 17:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: your warning on Talk:Geert Wilders
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_books#M Possession and sale for historical reasons is legal in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Only reproduction is forbidden due to copyrights (held by Bavarian state, expiring 70 years after the death of the author: 31. December 2015).
I've now added this, and if you block me for it -I WILL REPORT IT-. Best regards though, in hope of a misunderstanding.83.243.152.55 (talk) 15:10, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm fine with that edit as it's constructive, it was only your other edit that I removed per WP:VAND and WP:PA. StaticGull Talk 08:47, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

AWB clean ups
Hello StaticGull! I see you are doing a huge ammount of AWB clean up work today. That's good news! However, you should watch out with such automatic processes, as it is all too easy to make mistakes, like here, in which you replaced the Dutch word "Hier" with "Heir". I happen to have that article in my watchlist, and have corrected it. Cheers, Face 12:23, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll watch out better for things like that from now on. StaticGull Talk 13:14, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

APB URL Remover
Hi. APB Evolved is a official website for APB the game, this link is appropriate in the external link section.
Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.225.15 (talk) 18:03, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi! Although http://www.apb-evolved.com could be considered the most important APB fansite, it doesn't list any information that can't be included in the article. Therefore, it might be better not to inlcude it in the external links section. StaticGull Talk 11:07, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Would you agree that the site has to be the only single forums for APB, and has the developers on it actively. That being said I think we should add the link "until" a official forum goes up. http://apb-evolved.com/forums/memberlist.php?mode=group&g=7 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.225.15 (talk) 12:53, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Although that's true, Wikipedia discourages linking to forums, as well as websites requiring registration to view their content[1]. StaticGull Talk 16:00, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
If the forums are considered content, you don't have to register to view them or anything else on the website. Even still, right now that is the number one place to get APB information and its a valuable link to add. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.225.15 (talk) 11:26, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I suppose we could add it as an external link until other sources about the game appear. StaticGull Talk 11:50, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok, excellent. As soon as a new official APB source comes online, we will go ahead and remove the APB Evolved URL. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.225.15 (talk) 10:46, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
