Vista 5456 release date
I was tracking the release of build 5456, and it was released on June 24, even though Connect says June 23. Connect also says that build 5456 was released before the two new beta 2 language versions, which is not the case. I'm just trying to avoid an edit war. Also, look at the release date on this page: [1]. — Alex (T|C|E) 20:28, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- ...and I believe the Vista beta newsgroups have the correct release date, too. — Alex (T|C|E) 20:38, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi again, sorry I kept you waiting. Must have slipped my mind.
Anyway, as far as figuring out your n-th edit, the quickest way to do it (at least for multiples of 500) is just to use the contributions list, starting with the oldest contributions. This link will take you to your first 500 edits – the one at the top of the list is your 500th edit, and the one at the bottom is your first. Click the "Newer 500" link, and now the first edit in the list will be your 1000th. Keep clicking "Newer 500" and the first edit in the list each time will be the 1500th, 2000th and so on, until you get to the newest page.
I've made a change to User:Super-Magician to right-align the "(edit)" link; basically I've turned the section header into a table, and split it in two, right-aligned one half and put the link in there. Is this better? – Gurch 20:53, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- For the nth edit thing, I think you are mistaken about the user contributions list. Let's say you set the limit to '500'. When you click the 'oldest' link, the page you see does not have 500 edits listed. It actually has (total number of edits - 500k) edits, where k is some integer.
Ah, yes, I forgot about one detail. Click the "Oldest" link first, then click the "500" link, and it will give you the oldest 500. From there the rest should work.
- My second question has to do with the float alignment of the StormStatus template. You aligned it left, but I don't exactly want it left. Is there any possible way to center it in that box, or better yet, to actually place the content of the infobox in the box that is already there on User:Super-Magician/revise (essentially, removing the infobox formatting)?
I've edited User:Super-Magician/revise to put the box in the center. The only way to get rid of the infobox borders, though, would be to re-write the template without them. – Gurch 16:12, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Um, on my computer, the StormStatus template still looks left-aligned. Would it be much work for you to help me rewrite the template to remove the infobox borders? —
Yes, there seems to be a difference in the way certain browsers render the bit I added – not sure why. I just tried viewing it in Internet Explorer and as you say, it's left-aligned – while in Firefox (which I normally use) it's centered. Anyway, when I have a moment (sometime tomorrow, hopefully), I'll get rid of the borders – Gurch 21:13, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Re: More on my page?
Super-Magician wrote:
- I noticed you removed the borders on my templates a few days ago, but I wasn't sure if you were finished working yet or not.
- Anyway, I know I've given you a lot of work, and I'm sorry for that, but I ask just two more favors, if you will. Can you help me make the width of the StormStatus template the same as the width of the box enclosing it (on my revision page)? In addition, for my index, I'd like to hide the sub-subpages, like /Main/Old and /StormStatus/Default, etc. I had trouble editing it though.
- Thanks so much! — Super-Magician (talk • contribs • count) ★ 22:21, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. By 'hiding', I mean to use a "Show"/"Hide" button thing.

Tropical Depression Bud
Bud is now a depression, so why did you revert my edit on the timeline?! Alastor Moody (talk) 19:07, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- And also, please stop deleting my information I put in about Bud and Carlotta; plus, Carlotta did not yet weaken, it is still a hurricane like last evening. Alastor Moody (talk) 19:11, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- User Alastor Moody is me and also, don't plase don't erase my info on tropical cyclones. Alastor Moody (talk) 19:16, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Then how can you explain this:
- User Alastor Moody is me and also, don't plase don't erase my info on tropical cyclones. Alastor Moody (talk) 19:16, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- "However, Carlotta managed to regain some convection and restrengthened into a hurricane late that evening, only to weaken again over the following morning."
- I saw that you wrote this info on Carlotta. Alastor Moody (talk) 19:19, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
I know you were updating as you stated in the 2006 season's history page, but the question is that before you edited, I wrote down a few storm infos, but after you edited somewhat of it was gone. But can you just give me a link of why you replaced my info, so we can settle this discussion? Alastor Moody (talk) 19:23, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- I know, but after I last edited at 18:28 at Universal time, you edited about 28 minutes later. But after 19:15, I looked around, but it was not there (my infos), so it must have not been an edit conflict. But anyhow, Will you simply give me a link of why your storm info talks about Bud and Carlotta, if you want to settle this discussion? Alastor Moody (talk) 19:36, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well initally, you changed on how Bud was going to moon over Hawaii and dissipate over open waters, the timeline, and about Carlotta restrengthening into a hurricane. Alastor Moody (talk) 20:00, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Heads-Up That I've Reverted a Removal You Made
I wanted to advise you that I've reverted your removal of 82.25.23.38 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)'s "vote" on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of minor Star Wars organizations, for the following reasons: first, Wikipedia's deletion policy states, "Please do not remove any statements from any deletion discussion" (link). Secondly although I agree the anonymous user's commentary was extremely uncivil, I do not believe that use of profanity or uncivil terms in a vote qualifies it as vandalism able to be reverted under Wikipedia's vandalism guidelines. Although the user does show some signs of being a vandal ([2]), that doesn't prohibit him from voting. It's likely per WP:DGFA ("administrators can disregard opinions and comments if they feel that there is strong evidence that they were not made in good faith") that it'll be ignored anyway. — Mike (talk • contribs) 00:34, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Hacker/Cracker
You insist on reverting my edit, but I think its too minor an issue to bother the article's talk page with, so I bring it to you personally.
The accepted definition of a 'hacker' is 'One who programs enthusiastically (even obsessively) or who enjoys programming rather than just theorizing about programming.', that it is commonly used in connection with illegal breaking activity by mainstream sources doesn't negate its original definition. Furthermore, the two terms are not exchangeable.
A cracker is an individual who attempts to gain unauthorised access to a computer system. This can be done in many different ways, including using prefabricated utilities widely available. Therefore, a cracker need not be a hacker in its original meaning, and a hacker does not necessarily enage in illegal activities.
Let's use both terms for their proper meanings, eh? That many technologically challanged media sources confuse the facts doesn't mean wikipedia should also follow this practice. 82.72.113.246 13:55, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Please don't
Please don't retitle the storm name sections further without discussion. It was agreed last year that the year would be redundant. It's obvious that an article about the 2006 PHS or 2007 PHS would only carry the names for 2006 or 2007. – Chacor 00:39, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

- Sorry. You want me to cite removal of vandalism and misinformation? --Walter Görlitz 20:13, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- There are some things so blatantly obvious to people who know the topic under discussion, that people "like you", whatever that means, might want to research the topic. Steve Camp is first and foremost a Christian musician. It is obvious to anyone who has listened to Christian music in the 1980s. What's to prove? It would be like trying to prove that tobyMac is currently a musician, or Chris Tomlin, or any other headlining artist of today is. One of the main tenets of Wikipedia is be bold. The problem is that no content experts have reviewed that page in a while. It's in sad shape. --Walter Görlitz 20:22, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
