Your images[edit]

Please understand Wikipedia's image policies - we are a free-content encyclopedia and do not use images that are not legally our's to use. For an image to be used here, there either needs to be an applicable fair use justification or it needs to be released by the copyright holder under a "free" license. "Free" does not mean that they put it up on their website - it means that they released it under the GFDL, an acceptable Creative Commons license, or into the public domain. Images that come from the news media, etc, are not acceptable. Chances are, that at Georgia Tech games, there are fans with cameras. If you ask on a Georgia Tech message board, there's at least a decent chance that you will find someone with a photo of Calvin Johnson that they, themselves, photographed, that they would be willing to release under the GFDL. Please note that just creating a derivative work of someone else's photo is insufficient - it needs to be an original photograph. This is not meant to be annoying ... it's just that there are legal consequences for Wikipedia if we become a haven for images that are copyright violations. Everything here needs to be either free or legitimately fair use. --BigDT 05:04, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Slipnutz.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Slipnutz.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:42, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Sextuple entendre[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sextuple entendre, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Original research - the creator copied the triple entendre article and modified it slightly in an attempt to create a new article.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. LittleOldMe 17:06, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Nuvola apps important.svg

Thanks for uploading Image:Image:Eyeballs.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:17, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Prephray.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Prephray.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:36, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Information.svg Hello Superscubasteve! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2,551 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Brian McCann (actor) - Find sources: "Brian McCann (actor)" – news · newspapers · books · scholar · HighBeam · JSTOR · free images · free news sources · The Wikipedia Library · NYT · WP reference

File copyright problem with File:Hurricane Bill Saharan Air Layer.jpg[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

Thank you for uploading File:Hurricane Bill Saharan Air Layer.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 21:00, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
