Mandelbrot picture

[edit]

Hi Tó campos. I just wanted to pop by and say I liked your addition to the Mandelbrot set article. That is, your picture named "Mandelbrot set for z3+c and z4+c". It's a very nice example. --David Göthberg 07:56, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fractal

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to this article. Though, do you think you could replace the picture you used to illustrate the modelling a mountain? On my system at least, the picture is nothing but a triangle. Is this the picture you really wanted to use? TheRingess 14:48, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TheRingess. That picture is a gif-animation that starts as a triangle, then fills in more triangles and ends up as a pretty nice mountain. You need to enable (gif) animations again in your browser to see it. I will add "(animation)" to the image caption to make it clearer for all you who have disabled animations in your browsers. --David Göthberg 19:15, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lorenz snapshots

[edit]

Could you export these snapshots as PNG (or I suppose GIF) rather than as JPG? The compression artifacts from JPG degrade the images quite noticably, and it's even worse when they are scaled down. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 19:17, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Style tip

[edit]

Just a small remark. The external links go at the bottom of an article, after see also section. Also I think it should be always plural, "external links" even if there is only one. This should be in the manual of style somewhere. Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 04:58, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quick note

[edit]

Hey, you might want to read Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload (the sections "Do not save diagrams as JPEG" and "Use SVG over PNG"). The image you uploaded here seems to merely be one JPEG wrapped into an SVG (which really doesn't take advantage of any of the usefulness of SVG). Thanks. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 18:16, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for your addition to the Mandelbrot Set regarding coloring of the image and look-up tables. Nicely done. Cheers, Doctormatt 22:57, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:David Rodriguez 2004.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:David Rodriguez 2004.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 15:16, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Error in your animated fractal gif

[edit]

The frames of your animation flip horizontally after the second frame and it makes things confusing (and inaccurate). It's a great animation otherwise. AmateurEditor (talk) 03:48, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the fix. AmateurEditor (talk) 01:20, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
