Speedy deletion of Takerra Allen
[edit]A tag has been placed on Takerra Allen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. -- Blake01 16:30, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi, and Welcome to Wikipedia. I've removed some of the material from this article, as we could not determine any sources that confirm it. All information on Wikipedia must be both Verifiable and confirmed by reliable, independent sources. While much of the information is likely true, we cannot post material about living persons without a reference that confirms that information. For example, you indicate that the subject was a rapper at one point - great, but we can't mention that unless we have a news story about the subject as a rapper - maybe about a single, for example. The relation to Tupac Shakur is also a bold claim, and - while quite possible - we also need a source for that. Unfortunately, I cannot find an ISBN number for the novel, Thicker Than Water (novel), so there isn't much that can be added about the novel, either - publisher, release date, etc. If you have any of these sources, please post them here or on the talk page for the article, and I'll see what can be done about adding them to the article itself - or feel free to add them in yourself, if you wish - and please let us know if there is anything else we can help with. Thanks, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 18:37, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
{{hangon}} on this site, http://www.2pacworld.co.uk/2pacFatherFigures.html you will find that William Garland is the biological father to Tupac Shakur. William Garland, is also the biological father of Takerra Allen.
- OK. Is there a source that shows the relationship between Garland and Ms. Allen? I don't see a mention of her at that link. Thanks again, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 19:48, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
- Also, you don't have to use the hangon template here, as your talk page isn't being deleted; feel free to simply reply normally. You can also type four tildes (like this: ~~~~) to sign your username, which is generally considered courteous on wikipedia talk pages. No there is no 'SOURCE' that shows the relation for Takerra and her father because she is not famous yet and neither is William Garland. Why would there be an internet source of that? Would someone write an article on an upcoming author and her daddy? Do you want pictures????? You want her father to give you a personal call??? This is tedious. As her publicist I have met her father several times, however if this continues to be of serious debate to you, wikepedia representative, the information need not be included on your site. It is included everywhere else and is not a major element to the potential success of Ms. Allen or her work. Also the ISBN will be available later on this week, which I can just redo her page then if this information need be validated for you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.250.78.1 (talk) 20:02, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
- The reason I mention the items above is because the article on Ms. Allen is what we call on Wikipeida a Biography of a Living Person, or BLP. Per policy, we must be especially strict with the information that is posted about living persons. As I noted, I have no doubt that the information you provide is factual, but it must also be backed by sources. In most cases, this rule is applied to prevent spurious or inaccurate information; for example, celebrities are frequently accused of crimes, but this information can't be published here unless there is a reliable source that confirms it - this protects the subject of the article from having untrue information posted about them. Unfortunately, as in this case, it also keeps otherwise accurate information out of articles. If there's press coverage about Ms. Allen or her book (likely, as it nears release), then that will probably serve well as a source for this article. The ISBN helps confirm the publishing details about the book itself, so - as you indicate - adding that will help. I apologize if I offended you in some way, as that was not my intent. The article had been tagged for deletion, and I was attempting to get more information to include, rather than see the whole thing deleted outright. [edit]- Hi. I've been discussing concerns on this article with the article's author (who is likely the subject or related to the subject). I read the claim that the subject had written a novel as a claim of notability, albiet a dubious one, and was seeking further sources and information. Since the article has been deleted - and I concur that it's probably a valid deletion - could you do me a favor and notify the author? There was a nonsense tag earlier which I declined (having fixed the formatting that caused it to look like nonsense), and so now having the article deleted might confuse them a bit - or, worse, cause them to repost, then repost again when it's deleted again, and so on into drama. Incidentally, I concur with the deletion of the author's novel at Thicker Than Water (novel), as it was quite promotional. Thanks! UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 12:15, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
The above was posted on my talk page. Just to make it clear: I consider that both your articles were blatant advertising for non-notable subjects. Have you read WP:AUTO and WP:COI? Also, numerous AfD discussions have agreed that being related to a notable person does not confer any notability.
I strongly advise you to wait until someone with no COI writes about you and your work. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 12:43, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
