Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit(s) because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! Amit (talk) 03:15, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits to Malay Heritage Centre has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Information icon Hello, I'm 76.248.151.159. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. 76.248.151.159 (talk) 12:01, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "TamanWarisanMelayu", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to represent the entity you're promoting. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. 76.248.151.159 (talk) 12:47, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi. Sorry if we violate the rules and we definitely appreciated the advise. We are staff of the Centre, trying to find our way in Wiki and trying to update the information on our small museum. All the information and images are sourced from our own archives. We will review this again. Many thanks for the help. (TamanWarisanMelayu (talk) 13:21, 20 June 2013 (UTC))[reply]

Hi. We will also review our username. Kindly give us a few working days to sort this out. As mentioned, we are not familiar with wiki. Appreciate it. (TamanWarisanMelayu (talk) 13:48, 20 June 2013 (UTC))[reply]

  • Hello. Your response gets to the core of the issue, which transcends that of your username. User accounts on Wikipedia may not represent a group, agency or entity. The very reference to 'we', and the implication that this account's purpose is to promote the museum, are problematic. Of course updated and relevant information is welcome, but it must conform to WP:NPOV, be supported by acceptable sources per WP:RELIABLE, and not violate copyright law. Thank you, 76.248.151.159 (talk) 15:12, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you.
