Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons. Thank you. JRDkg (talk) 15:26, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Nantyglo appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Nantyglo. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. NJD-DE (talk) 16:22, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is a notable person that should be on there! Alexander Wright the pride of our village and his achievement for our community and boxing Theroadtoglory (talk) 16:25, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Theroadtoglory, I don't doubt your village is proud of him any second. But please note, that an article should be created for him first prior to including him in notable person lists. NJD-DE (talk) 16:27, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well he responded to having an article for him. He's one of the most respected people in the community. Theroadtoglory (talk) 16:30, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Nathan Cleverly, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. NJD-DE (talk) 16:44, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours to prevent further vandalism. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Hammersoft (talk) 17:23, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I recognize that you are attempting to do what you think is right. However, as has been explained to you, what you are doing is not in compliance with our standards here. You have also been engaging in edit warring in an attempt to force your changes onto the project. This is not how Wikipedia works. We work in a collegial fashion, working towards consensus when there is a disagreement. Your approach is not the way forward. I strongly encourage you to rethink your approach. Once the block expires, I hope you return and contribute constructively to the project. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 17:25, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

January 2021[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Nantyglo, you may be blocked from editing. NJD-DE (talk) 13:47, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not vandalising anything... I'm putting more information to Nantyglo. I should know because I live there!!!!!! Theroadtoglory (talk) 16:34, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you aren't vandalising, as you claim, then please explain this edit where you wiped out the entire "Notable people" section and replaced it with "Franklin John"? Further, you were told not to add Alexander Wright to the notable peoples list unless there was an article about him [1]. If you aren't vandalising, please explain how it is not vandalising to attempt to add him not just once [2], not just twice [3], not just three times [4], but FOUR times [5]. We call that edit warring (see Wikipedia:Edit_warring. Not only did you engage in this behavior which got you blocked, but after your block expired your return to performing the exact same edit which got you blocked the first time. I fail to see how you could believe this was anything other than disruptive behavior on your part.
  • It doesn't matter if the village of Nantyglo is proud of him. If that were the only criteria for including someone in this encyclopedia, it would be absolutely overrun with everyone's long list of what they think are local favorites. It doesn't matter if the entire village thinks he's the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel. It matters not one bit. We have standards for inclusion here on this project for such people which you can see at WP:NBOXING. As an amateur boxer, it's highly unlikely he would qualify for an article here unless he meets item 4 of that list. Or, alternatively, you can find substantial reliable, secondary sources that support notability of this person per WP:GNG.
  • If, after this block expires on January 8, you return to the same sort of disruptive editing, you will be blocked again. I strongly encourage you to reconsider your actions. If you have questions, let me know. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 23:24, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
