FYI, images that are "used with permission", licensed for non-commercial only use, or permitted only for Wikipedia use are not permitted. Anyone can tag the image with {{db-noncom}} and an admin will delete it on sight. If you would like for the image not to be deleted, you will need to release it under a "free" license, like the {{GFDL}}. If you did not realize these restrictions and just want it to be deleted, you can tag it with {{db-author}}. For more information, please see WP:IUP. Thanks. --Born2x 02:05, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. License tagging for Image:CIMG0749.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CIMG0749.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:05, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

FYI on copyrights

[edit]

If you want the Wiki gods not to toss your images, upload them with the GDFL and/or CC "copyleft" licenses. The result is that you do lose come control over them and they probably will be copied all over the web, but free images are much welcomed! Montanabw 15:46, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
