If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ongreen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WuhWuzDat 18:51, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OnGreen draft

[edit]

Hi. I've had a look at your draft for the article as you requested. There are two main issues with it right now:

  1. Lack of reliable sources that show how the company is notable. The references are either to the OnGreen web page, or do not mention the company at all. There needs to be some third-party verification. For example, the article claims that OnGreen has more members than its closest competitor, but the only source given is the competitor's home page, which doesn't tell us anything. You need to add things like magazine articles that discuss the company (not just the industry in general). I found a Tech Crunch article that illustrates what I mean: http://techcrunch.com/2010/11/09/ongreen-series-a-investmen/.
  2. It is written in a non-neutral way. The article has to be written like an encyclopedia entry, not like a press release or the company's web page. You're not supposed to be selling anything, just stating facts. Like OnGreen has been creating and capturing value to the "deal seekers" and "deal providers" by enabling the exchange of ideas for external funding. -- this doesn't mean anything, it's just "business speak".

I hope my comments were helpful. You can also go to the Drawing Board to get further opinions. If you have any other questions feel free to leave a note on my talk page. ... discospinster talk 23:53, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OnGreen

[edit]

It looks better now, not so promotional. I changed a bit of the wording and added a source. It's not rock solid because the company is still new but there's probably less of a chance of it being deleted now that it has third-party references. One thing: you might want to change your name to avoid any conflict of interest arguments. You can do that at WP:CHU ... discospinster talk 02:39, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article OnGreen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails the notability guideline for companies.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:01, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
