Mission Viejo High School

[edit]

Hi...if you have a problem with another editor's edits, you come to the talk page at the article and discuss it. You don't just put it back. School articles have specific guidelines. This article did not come close to following them. See you at Talk:Mission Viejo High School. Gtwfan52 (talk) 04:52, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. The school article guidelines are here. After you read them, you will see why I reverted all that stuff. A couple of points, since you are a student there. Remember that the article is not your school's article, it is an article about your school. A whole bunch of the stuff I took out was stuff talking about how accomplished or famous or renowned the school was at something. That kind of language is never appropriate for an encyclopedia. The article about your school should be written from the viewpoint that the reader is someone in Bean Blossom, Indiana or Butte, Montana looking for useful information about your school. It is doubtful they will care about the names of anyone that ever attended there, or how many conference championships the basketball team won. The guidelines give specific limits about what should be included in a high school article.
I will leave you a template that has a bunch of links to help new users. There are two for "handbooks" that are especially helpful. The rest are to specific policies, which frankly can be confusing, but should eventually be read. I will also leave you a link to a Q&A forum especially for new users called the Teahouse. They will give you simple answers to the complex questions you will have as you edit here. and feel free to write me on my talk page if I can ever be of help. Welcome to Wikipedia, Throughthemines, and Happy Editing!! Gtwfan52 (talk) 05:29, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I knew you didn't write the stuff you took out, bit you reinserted it, making it your responsibility to defend it if you wanted it to stay. IDK if you know this, but the article has a history tab, and every edit that has ever been done to it is in there. Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:35, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is being posted on your Talk page where you can receive messages from other Wikipedians and discuss issues and respond to questions. At the end of each message you will see a signature left by the editor posting. This is done by signing with four ~~~~ or by pressing or in the editing interface tool box, located just above the editing window (when editing). Do not sign edits that you make in the articles themselves as those messages will be deleted, but only when using the article talkpage, yours or another editor's talkpage.
