Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 21:51, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Did I make an external link? Other than a citation? I did not intend to. Tigirl3000 (talk) 19:12, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I checked the edit history. MrOllie's edit summary states These are not more reputable refs, they are consultant spam, which was the reason for reverting that edit. Hope that clears it up for you! Schazjmd (talk) 19:39, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The grandview market research study was cited in an article. I thought it better to link to the original source (a reputable market data researcher, not "consultant spam") than to the article that cited it, which is what I understand is preferable under Wikipedia guidelines.
At any rate, it seemed better than the previous link, to the table of contents of an Australian website on all industries with the actual content behind a paywall, which was citing the size of the US market. Tigirl3000 (talk) 16:19, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey MrOllie!, did you undo ALL of my edits? Why did you do that? I update the largest companies, citing HAPPI magazine, the most reputable trade journal in the entire cosmetic industry. It is most definitely NOT "consultant spam" and I don't know what more you could be looking for in a reputable reference. It was a lot of time and effort and a HUGE improvement on what was there. I don't appreciate you coming in and undoing all of my work like that, with NO justification. Tigirl3000 (talk) 16:29, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to get another editor's attention to a discussion, you need to "ping" them. To ping another editor, you need to link their user name in one of the following ways and sign your comment (~~~~) in the same edit:

[[User:Example]], {{u|Example}}, {{User|Example}}, {{user link|Example}}, {{ping|Example}}, {{Yo|Example}}, or {{reply to|Example}}
