[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Alpha Piscis Austrini. I noticed that you recently removed content from Anna Mackmin without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 13:22, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
I work with Anna and have had her permission to edit her page, i have been adding content to update her theatre credits. You have made a mistake and content you removed i am now having to reinput it all over again. Please can you either reverse the mistake? if not, i will re-edit her page so please do not remove any content again. Tillyclarke (talk) 13:26, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I did not make any mistakes. My revert was intentional. Considering you said that you are working with her, that constitutes a conflict of interest: see WP:COI, more specifically, WP:DISCLOSE, since you have to disclose information such as this on Wikipedia. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 13:29, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So how can i edit her page? She is a theatre director and i am simply adding credits. Tillyclarke (talk) 13:31, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please explain how i am able to edit her page without you reversing the work. Tillyclarke (talk) 13:32, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have listed links in my previous comment that will be useful to you. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 13:32, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is nothing against you, this is just simply how Wikipedia operates. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 13:33, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How does it work then? She is our client and she has requested and the correct information is uploaded to her page. Tillyclarke (talk) 13:40, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have said before. I have added links. WP:COI and WP:DISCLOSE. Please read them, as I can tell you have not yet. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 13:42, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So if i cannot edit them who can? Tillyclarke (talk) 13:47, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The information on your page is inaccurate Tillyclarke (talk) 13:48, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As per the link:
"Also, if you propose significant or potentially controversial changes to an affected article, you can use the {{request edit}} template. Place this at the bottom of the talk page and state your suggestion beneath it (be sure to sign it with four tildes, ~~~~). If the proposal is verifiable and appropriate, it will usually be accepted. If it is declined, the editor declining the request will usually add an explanation below your entry."
You can request what changes need to be made under the talk page of the article you want to edit. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 13:50, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
how do i find the talk page on the article? I cant see this Tillyclarke (talk) 13:52, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Are you on mobile or desktop. I don't know about mobile, but on desktop, there should be a link that says "Talk" on the top left of each article. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 14:27, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have put in the request for her page to be edited - do you know how long this could take to be approved? Tillyclarke (talk) 14:30, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
First, it's unlikely to be "approved" because it's insufficient. Everything that gets added to the article must be reliably sourced before it can be added. In addition, the information must be noteworthy and encyclopedic. At a glance, the large amount of material you want added falls far short of that. Also, generally, it's a lot easier to get material added to an article if you do it in small pieces; the amount of your material - and I won't even address the material you wish removed - is quite large. Finally, I remind you that you must declare your COI in the appropriate form on your userage. The instructions to do so are in the next section. If you have trouble with it, in addition to asking questions here, you may also ask questions at the WP:Teahouse.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:22, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I dont understand what is not reliably sourced? They are credits that she has directed are of specific, high profile award winning shows that i have got from online sources/her personal CV. How do these become reliably sourced? do you need links to the articles that show evidence? Tillyclarke (talk) 14:07, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Anna Mackmin, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you would like to experiment with test edits. Thank you.
