Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that in this edit to Assam, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 07:18, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have seen your correction but in this Assam article, it should be mentioned that Bengali and Bodo are CO-OFFICIAL LANGUAGES, and Assamese is the OFFICIAL LANGUAGE in all the districts and regions including Barak valley. Udit Sandilya (talk) 08:51, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please cite a source supporting such. The fact that a language is "official" doesn't mean other languages are spoken. Articles should mention the more common languages even if not official. See wp:citing sources. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 09:01, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You changed one of the many m/d/y formatted dates to d/m/y. Please be aware that multiple date formats are allowed MOS:DATES. There is sometimes an indication at the top of the article visible with the editor. In this case it was {{Use mdy dates}} Please be aware of this. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 07:22, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, multiple English variants are allowed and used on Wikipedia. See wp:ENGVAR. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 07:25, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok got it. Next time I will surely take care of it. Udit Sandilya (talk) 08:42, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, @Udit Sandilya

I want to extend a warm welcome to you as a new editor on Wikipedia. Your dedication to improving articles and sharing your knowledge is greatly appreciated. However, I'd like to emphasize the importance of adhering to Wikipedia's content guidelines, specifically regarding the need to cite reliable sources for the information you contribute.

Remember, Wikipedia relies on verifiable information. To maintain its credibility, it's crucial that all contributions are supported by reputable sources. Although your insights are valuable, it's necessary to substantiate your claims with references that others can access and verify independently.

As you continue to edit, please keep in mind the following:

Reliable sources: When making changes, ensure that you provide proper citations to credible sources. This allows fellow editors and readers to understand the basis of the information and assess its accuracy.

Avoid original research: While your thoughts are important, refrain from adding personal opinions or interpretations that aren't already established by reliable sources.

Neutral tone: Wikipedia presents information in a balanced manner. Avoid promotional language or biased perspectives in your edits.

Responsible editing: Take the time to thoroughly research topics and gather evidence from reliable sources before making changes. Careful editing maintains content accuracy and quality.

I encourage you to acquaint yourself with Wikipedia's guidelines, policies, and editing practices related to sourcing. If you have questions or need guidance, don't hesitate to reach out to experienced editors or consult the resources in the Wikipedia Help Center.

Your contributions are valued, and by following these guidelines, you'll help preserve Wikipedia's integrity and credibility as a dependable source of information. Thank you for your commitment to enhancing the world's knowledge.
