Notability of Bill Thomas (actor)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Bill Thomas (actor) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bihco (talk) 19:32, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that in this edit to Bill Thomas (actor), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 09:20, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As others have added significant content, db-author is no longer viable. See Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#G7 Jim1138 (talk) 09:27, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if you can get it deleted. You might ask an wp:administrator. Diannaa seems to be more understanding. You might find that you lost control when you clicked "Save changes" per the release just above the "Save changes" button: By saving changes, you agree to the Terms of Use, and you irrevocably agree to release your contribution under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL. You agree that a hyperlink or URL is sufficient attribution under the Creative Commons license. Best of luck. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 09:47, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You would go to her talk page user talk:Diannaa] and leave a message as you have done to mine. Please understand that wp:Wikipedia is anonymous and your identity is unknown. So, while you may be Bill Thomas, it would be difficult to verify this. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 10:05, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jim1138: Possibly an WP:AFD might be the way forward; for all the stated prolificity in the article, a (very brief, admittedly) WP:BEFORE actually doesn't bring up very many reliable sources. WP:ADMIN Ritchie333 is also sympathetic in situations such as these- you don't appear to have taken on the government at any point recently  ;) but he might be able to advise.
