[edit]

Hi Victorious,

You've been uploading a lot of images that are obviously copyrighted. For instance Image:Dent Volley.jpg ([1]) and Image:Federer.jpg ([2]). Wikipedia cannot and does not use images that are copyrighted. Please either refrain from uploading such copyrighted images, or provide proof of having obtained permission of use from the respective copyright holders. Your images will soon be deleted otherwise. Thank you. -Aabha (talk) 09:37, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An image that you uploaded, Image:Federer.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Thanks for uploading Image:Taylor_Dent.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 00:18, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:HenmanV.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:HenmanV.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Ronaldo

[edit]

Hi Victorius,

I have added the disambiguation notice on Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, don't know how it had been missing all along.

I understand that Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima might be more popular in America than other people called 'Ronaldo', but there might be someone in, say Portugal, who thinks of Cristiano Ronaldo when they see the name 'Ronaldo'. Because of this reason we can't have a page called simply 'Ronaldo' which is about the Brazilian..the disambiguation page link for Ronaldo on top of each differently named article will make sure everyone gets to the person they are looking for.

Wikipedia:Disambiguation has all about disambiguation..take a look at it, and let me know if there's something you want to ask. 'Renaming' pages is a little more complex, since it involves page histories, if you want to read about how it is done, you will find Moving a page useful.

I hope that solved your problem. Please do get back to me if there is anything else that you want to know. Aabha (talk) 06:04, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. Just for your notice, I am a girl :)

Hi Victorius,
Just thought I'll let you know..there was a poll for moving Ronaldo Luís Nazário de LimaRonaldo, and that has now been done. -Aabha (talk) 19:27, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
