Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:Vladimir Gheorghiu. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Hello Timothy, Thanks for your feedback. The Wikipedia article is dedicated to my father, his contributions to several vivid topics in psychology were notable e.g., a scale to assign people feature to be influenced by others (suggestibility). Since this is the first Wikipedia article I was editing, any hints to improve it are highly welcomed. All the very best, Eugen Gheorghiu Vladimir Gheorghiu (talk) 16:35, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you believe your father is notable, you have to find independent, reliable secondary sources that provide significant coverage to him. See WP:GNG, WP:BASIC, WP:RS etc. Also, you need to write in a neutral tone, see WP:NPOV. Good luck for your future contributions! Timothytyy (talk) 01:31, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Timothy for your valuable support. I have inserted the citations within the text (previously, they were grouped at the bottom, without clear links to the text), and added independent, reliable secondary sources that provide significant coverage to my father. I Hope that the article reaches now Wikipedia's standard Vladimir Gheorghiu (talk) 10:46, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your work! Just some nlminor problems: Firstly, there are too many citations errors; please fix them. Secondly, the sources you provided didn't actually provide SIGCOV to the subject, not addressing the subject detailedly and directly. Thirdly, some of the sources are not WP:SECONDARY (I.e. they are primary) in nature, so they might not contribute towards GNG and BASIC. Hope you can address these problems and improve the article soon! Timothytyy (talk) 10:58, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Timothy, While finalizing the corrections kindly suggested in your message, the draft was deleted. I don't mind making them once again, please let me know how to proceed. Thanks, Eugen Vladimir Gheorghiu (talk) 12:35, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

COI[edit]

You have an obvious conflict of interest, please don't write about your friends or relatives and read the guidance below:

  • When you write about a person, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls. Also, his own writings are never going to be accepted as independent third-party sources
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • You should use wikilinks.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. If you are writing about yourself, or someone you know as a friend, colleague, client, employer or relative, you have a conflict of interest, and you must disclose the nature of that COI. Hi Jim, While making the corrections suggested by Timothy, you deleted the draft. I already disclosed Timothy that Vladimir Gheorghiu was my father. Vladimir Gheorghiu (talk) 12:32, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimfbleak Hi Jim, can you please provide the source of the deleted draft to this user? I think he is editing in good faith and he is trying to contribute constructively. Timothytyy (talk) 12:45, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Vladimir Gheorghiu, I'll assume good faith here, and do as Timothytyy has requested.
Please read what I've written above and in particular note the following
  • I accept that you have concealed your COI, but you need to put {{Connected contributor|User1= Vladimir Gheorghiu}} on the article talk page
  • you must keep to facts, don't put in your opinions, like "His life and career were marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge... " which make it a fan page, not an encyclopaedia article, there is lots of sugar coating like that throughout
  • Everything you write must be factual with an independent third-party source
  • His publications can't be used as references, If you list any of them, they should have no references, just the citation
  • Don't write in italics
