Hello Waldir! I do agree that the reference on Blue Diamond should be removed. I'll let you take care of that. I'm not sure when but I will also add some sort of addition to the Ford Trucks and to Navistar, as I agree it should be mentioned on those pages. Thanks a lot! <span style="border: 1px solid green"><font color="black">Caster23</font></span> <font color="red">talk</font> <font color="blue">contribs</font> 22:03, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia Puzzle Globe
Hello Waldir, thank you for your note alerting me to the Puzzle Globe and logo debates (and sorry for the delay in responding!) You are more than welcome to upload or evangelize any graphics to the commons, and it would be great to see someone building on the starting point that Hazard and I were piecing together. I'm quite busy right now, but if there's enough critical mass in a discussion where people are serious about getting linguistics and 3D experts together... I could be easily persuaded to join in with my 2 cents. (By the way, I just got a comment today on the YouTube video from someone who has done the same model, so perhaps he would like to contribute.) Wikimania 2007

Hi Waldir,

Wikimania 2007, which is being held in Taipei, Taiwan on August 3-5, is offering opportunities for travel scholarships to Wikimania for active users of Wikimedia projects from the continent of Africa. Although the original scholarship deadline has passed, please, if you are interested, you may still apply at Scholarships. Sincerely yours, Cary Bass 21:06, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

I think you removal of all external links in the Philately page was rather aggressive. A number of editors, keeping this on our watch list, think these are quite reasonable links for the topic and we have been keeping the linkspam in check pretty well. It is a broad topic and many of the current links were good ones. The Open Directory Project link is pretty well useless because it point to stamp collecting and not to philately which does not exist there. Cheers ww2censor 03:00, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: Blue Diamond

Hello. I know that the Blue Diamond agreement was an agreement between Navistar and Ford to develop trucks for both companies use (to sell). From a search I did they entered into an agreement way back in 2001. However, I cannot seem to find a website about the new company (they created a company called Blue Diamond Trucks, I believe) or any recent information. All Ive found are various press releases from Ford that mention that agreement. Since there is little to no information about this, I'm not sure if its notable enough to mention at Blue Diamond. What do you think? And by the way, thanks for the comments about my contributions to International Harvester. I really do appreciate it! :) Thank you. Caster23 21:45, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Artiletra cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Artiletra cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chris Btalkcontribs 16:11, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conversation with learnportuguese

I was directed to your page by another user. So you are from Cape Verde. That's AWESOME! I'm really interested in Portuguese language and culture. just put a watch on my user page and talk page. It seems like every Portuguese speaker can speak English. That's true?

learnportuguese 13:47, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where did you learn English then? I'm very impressed. Yeah, I feel like no one wants to learn Portuguese, even though over 210,000,000 people speak it!! :)

Where are you from?

learnportuguese 00:12, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was just making a guess as to where you were from. I figured you were from Cape Verde though, I don't know why. Anyway, I was bound to encounter someone not from Portugal or Brasil soon..... :)

I'm always impressed by people who use English as a second language. Many use it better than native speakers, in terms of both grammar and pronunciation. I myself find English confusing sometimes, and I'm a native speaker. That's what makes English such a hard language for outsiders to learn. Would you say Portuguese is harder or easier (than English) to learn as a second language?

learnportuguese 14:43, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How would you say that you're very particular about pronouncing Portuguese? I'll need to know that so people don't think I'm trying to make fun of them.

learnportuguese 14:33, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One thing I find really hard to master in Portuguese is how to write the words why and because. I know they are almost the same. Is there a way I can remember to tell them apart?

Boss AC

O nome verdadeiro do Boss AC estava na Wikipedia de língua portuguesa, foi de lá que tirei, mas não tinha a fonte dessa informação. --Pc13 13:34, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ECTS grading scale

Thanks for your query. I think you have now established notability; so I have removed that flag from the article. As regards the Merge flag, I have replied at Talk:European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System to see if anyone else has views. On balance, I would still tend toward merging but do not have strong views on the subject; I've left the Merge flags for the time being, but I've no objection to you removing them if you think the two articles are best left separate. --Boson 14:27, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Immersed tube illustration

I'd gladly do it, i just need to research more about the differences it has with the floating tunnel, on first impression it would seem it is the fact that this one is directly anchored to the ground? if you have more refence pages that'd be awessome Yupi666 21:28, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ok, i've made illustrations for the two types i found, i used the most proffesional of illustations i found as a base, which was a maunsell diagram, which seems to not be online anymore, i openly discarded the diagram at http://www.proserveltd.co.uk/Assets/tunnels2.jpg because of inconsitencies (which could be manufacturing differencies among companies) with the other diagram, which had these two different types of construction, still these were built from the ground up because the maunsell diegrams were frontal cuts and these are isometric

Ok, i think its fixed now, but if the bug's still there please do tell me. And thanks for the compliment.Yupi666 (talk) 02:31, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scholarship

Hi, TeaDrinker. I understand your reasons for removing this link, but I ask you to consider the reasons I exposed in the summary of my edit. I have done a little research on online scholarship databases, and that one was the only one that did't require a registration to search the database. Maybe there are others, but I didn't find any. I believe that's a good reason to keep it in the links section. See also Wikipedia:External links#Sites requiring registration. Thanks, Waldir 00:39, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note. My concern is that it is a bit outside of Wikipedia's purpose to link to sites to find scholarships. There are a great many such sites, and sorting through them to find the ones which are legitimate or useful is a bit challenging, would and moreover unnecessary since people are not likely to look in an encyclopedia for guidance on where to find scholarships. See Wikipedia is not a collection of links. My own view presently that search tools are outside of the scope of Wikipedia's project and should not be linked (a view which has evolved in the year and a half of watching the page; my views on talk were a bit different in times past). If this does not address your concern, perhaps we could move the discussion to the article talk page to allow for broader participation. --TeaDrinker 01:14, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Collaborative blah

My view is that many of these highly specific topics are created by people boosting their own products, but I don't have the time or energy right now to pursue the spammers. You should do as you think fit. Cheers, Guy (Help!) 07:54, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
