2022 AHS lead[edit]
Hi there, I wondered why you changed the first sentence of the article. The version you reverted back to had four instances of the term "average", and one "near-normal", which doesn't help the reader at all explain the season. At least if you start with the bit about 1997, you say right away how unusual the season was, rather than giving the reader the impression that it was an entirely normal season. - Okay. The reason why I changed it was because if the opening sentence said that it was the first season during a la nina year to not have any tropical cyclone during August, the readers might think that the 2022 season wasn't too bad, so I wanted to start with the statistics of the season first. - I completely get that mentality. Remember that a lot of readers will see the infobox first, so they're already going to see the stats. You also don't want to frontload too much information that it might turn away readers with a bunch of words that don't mean much other than the season was statistically average. I'd be just as fine with mentioning Ian in the first sentence, since that's arguably the most important storm of the season. Hi Wikieditorperson1! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at 2022–23 South Pacific cyclone season that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.
