Comment and a heads up[edit]

I made this edit to your table. Would you like me to comment here about lower-than-usual activity levels this past year? NW (Talk) 22:29, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that works. Wizardman 22:54, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, there's actually not that much to say. Real life has gotten a little busier, but not incredibly so. It's not burnout—I'm probably reading and keeping up with things as much as I used to. I have just reduced my active editing, haven't picked up any major article projects, and have just been reading the encyclopedia more. I don't anticipate not being able to perform my duties in a timely fashion. NW (Talk) 01:00, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I should probably comment here as well since it's a major factor you express concern over my own candidacy. There were two factors in play: (a) loss of my job last summer, which made a serious mess of my personal life for a while and had fairly long-lasting repercussions on motivation on all of my activities (and which, in retrospect, was probably a depression), and (b) a six-month near-complete vacation from Wikipedia. The intent there was to see if I could return freshened up and with renewed enthusiasm. I could.
Don't get me wrong: you'll never see high level of article activity from me. Hell, I'm nice enough to not foist my feeble attempts at article writing upon the community. But is my involvement and dedication to the project there? You bet. — Coren (talk) 17:58, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comments[edit]

I see you comment about WTT "40% of edits are user talk, which is surprising". I'm pretty sure that's because of the large amount of mentoring he does for new users - a lot of that happens on their talk pages. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:28, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I actually have stabbed myself in the hand with a rusty screwdriver before, and I can confirm it was indeed better than supporting YOLO Swag ;-) -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:30, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ouch[edit]

I say this as someone who has been exposed to Ottava Rima's self-styled poems on ANI: your tribute to Newyorkbrad is some of the worst doggerel I've ever laid eyes on. If that's what you were trying for, congratulations. Bishonen | talk 14:01, 22 November 2012 (UTC).[reply]

And another thing...[edit]

Obviously you, me, and everybody else are going to oppose YOLO Swag. But I don't see any need for calling him a troll, or to declare open season on him altogether. He's a problematic user, but I'm pretty sure he's a well-meaning one, and his candidacy is certainly not intended as trolling (I've had some off-wiki conversation with him about it). It's not exactly brave to take cheap shots at him, Wizardman, considering the power differential between the two of you. Bishonen | talk 14:16, 22 November 2012 (UTC).[reply]
