Recent pages[edit]

Hi, I'm User:IAmChaos, and I'm a New Page Reviewer here at Wikipedia. I noticed you very recently made 3 pages very quickly, but they don't quite meet our requirements. Only one of the three has any reference at all, and that doesn't meet our requirements for Reliable sourcing. Youre about to get three messages that I have moved your articles to be improved, but I don't want to scare you away, they just need a bit more work before they are ready to be properly published. If you can apply Reliable Sources to the articles, proving they meet our Notability rules, they can be moved back into the article space. My advice would be to make one ready at a time, before grinding out others at this rate. Happy Editing--IAmChaos 23:07, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

John MacLennan moved to draftspace[edit]

Please see my section above, the rest of this paragraph is an automated notice that I mentioned in the section above. An article you recently created, John MacLennan, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. A tag has been placed on your user page, User:MJMA, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. MJMA[edit]

Hi. Thanks for creating an article about MJMA. I moved your draft back to your sandbox because it isn't ready for mainspace yet.

  1. Your article lacks inline references. Please review this training module on how to add inline references
  2. Everything in the article needs to be connected to reliable sources that are independent of the subject. The sources you have listed include the company website, promotional material of theirs hosted on issuu.com, and articles on ArchDaily. The first two are clearly not independent, and thus can't be used to demonstrate notability. I'm not sure about the third - it seems to be a prominent site, and it may be usable, but you need several sources to demonstrate notability. One source isn't really enough.

Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:21, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Most of your article is still unsourced. You need at least one reference per paragraph, and you shouldn't have any text after the final reference in a paragraph. References shouldn't be in section headers either - even if they cover all the content in a section - they need to follow the text they support.
When it comes to listing projects and awards, you shouldn't have long lists of bullet points. A few major projects are worth listing, but it's much better to discuss them in paragraph form so that the average reader can understand why they're important. This is also true for awards. Make sure the awards you list are notable - if the awards don't have their own Wikipedia article, include some explanatory text. And stick to the most important ones. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:43, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop moving that page to mainspace.
  • Very few of the "major projects" and "awards" are sourced. If you insist on including so many, at the very least you need to include sources that indicate that they are major projects and awards. Sourced paragraphs that indicate the important are best, but if you want to go with bullet points, you need to provide readers with some way to understand the important. Without sources or links to Wikipedia pages about the projects, they aren't much use to readers.
  • The lead paragraph needs to start with the article title. The first sentence needs to succinctly state what the article is about. The rest of the lead needs to summarise the contents of the article. Everything in the lead need to be discussed in more detail in the body of the article.
I strongly recommend that you read some more Wikipedia article to get a sense of tone and structure. Wikipedia articles are supposed to look and feel like they're part of a coherent whole. This doesn't read like an encyclopaedia article. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:32, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of MJMA[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on MJMA, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
