Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Xlbdc, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hullo!

Hey there! Very cool you're planning to edit the Lupus article as part of your University assignment. I've got an interest in the subject (I live with Lupus in remission), so if you need any Wikipedia help (within the guidelines of what's allowed by your University, of course) please feel free to reach out. Just adding my hello here as well! I see you're planning to edit Type 1 diabetes as well. I mostly edit medicine-related topics here -- and in fact, I've recently been working to update and improve Type 1 diabetes! -- so if you have any questions or there's anything I can do to help, please feel free to reach out any time. Toxic shock syndrome

Sorry but I've had to revert your edits there; see my edit summary. Also the text you added doesn't match with the sources you cited; for instance this reference says nothing about amputation. Graham87 02:15, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, regarding possible conflict of interest; your edit summary (thanks for leaving them) for this and this edit suggests you may possibly be the author of the work you're citing. If so, please read and adhere to WP:SELFCITE. Fred Gandt · talk · contribs 03:56, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Fred Gandt: I initially suspected that as well until I read their user page. It is highly improbable that somebody who had written for the National Organization for Rare Disorders some time ago (see the publication date at the end of the source cited) would be studying at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I think when they wrote "my work", they just meant "my additions to the article". Graham87 07:19, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The new additions are much better; thanks. Graham87 03:13, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
