Yanick Paquette article

[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edits to Yanick Paquette , as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edits had to be reverted for the following reasons:

First, You uncited birth information to the article. Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material or original research. This includes material lacking cited sources, material obtained through personal knowledge, or which constitutes the an analysis or interpretation by the editor that is not found in cited sources. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here.

Second, you removed information on the Ultimate X-Men run from the article but without providing a rationale for this in an Edit Summary. When removing material, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page.

You also changed the name of a comic book in the article from Batman Incorporated to Batman Inc. The name of that book is indicated on its cover to be Batman Incorporated, and therefore, that is the name that should be used, per WP:TONE. It is also the name of the Wikipedia article.

Also, you changed the photo that was in the Infobox. While preferences over photos may be subjective, I do not think that an unnaturally-colored shot of the subject with an odd facial expression, set in an unknown location, and with their eyes partially obscured by glasses, is a better choice of portrait to illustrate an article on a comics artist than a shot of that artist sketching at a comics convention. If you disagree, let me know, and we can start a consensus discussion on the article's talk page, to which we can invite other editors to weigh in, in order to achieve a consensus of the community, as per Wikipedia guidelines.

Lastly, you should be advised that edits that represent a conflict of interest, including autobiographical edits, are strongly discouraged on Wikipedia.

Just so you know, I expanded the Career section of the article a bit to provide more details on which books were published when, and to provide more details and citations about the Shuster Award nominations. I also placed your photo in the Yanick Paquette category on the Commons, so that it could be more easily found, as the only category in which it was placed was "Comic Book Artist", which does not exist. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks.
