[edit]

Rearranged as per your suggestions. The current players (except Ganguly) are now in 'stubs, or 'not stubs, but to be expanded' as they will continue to evolve. Yuvraj and Harbhajan in 'completed' looks like a genuine error as they were hardly ten lines long when they were included there. Sreesanth et. al. hadn't played Test cricket when the list was first compiled. Feel free to update this when you expand articles. Tintin (talk) 05:06, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification

[edit]

Of course nobody is contesting that creating articles for Wikipedia is a good thing. Please do not confuse creating new articles with nominating them as DYKs. The former is clearly very beneficial to Wikipedia, but is it such a good thing for the main-page DYKs to be so repetitive in character? Andrew Levine 03:59, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Compare the info which Judith Sims wrote and the illegal info Devios and Zoe revert to. Putting or reverting to copyright info on wikipedia's website is considered VANDALISM!!! Read carefully. You will find copyrighted info on wikipedia's website. This is against the law.

http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_g2603/is_0003/ai_2603000396 < Judith Sims

There is still a lot more info that I think may be copyright violations still left in the article. Devios and Zoe have broken wikipedia's rules. Check the history of GSE article. Then you will have to revert way back to BEFORE Devios put copyrighted material on wikipedia's website. This is an ongoing problem with Devios all over wikipedia. This person is taking copyrighted material and dumping it on wikipedia's website without permission from the copyright holder. Thanks again for all your help. And good luck trying to STOP Devios and this user's VANDALISM.

Whilst we do have to be careful when editing articles about living people, I would not say that it is always inherently a current even article. Indeed, most people only rarely have things happen to them notable enough to hit wikipedia. The current event tag is supposed to be used, as far as I can tell, to tag stories which are in the process of breaking. it is intended to warn readers that the material is changing rapidly, and to warn editors to let some dust settle rather than to add in rumours. As such, your removal of the tag from Tony Blair was correct, as from what I can tell, the heat is off for the next few days now that he's made a somewhat stronger commitment. However the tag probably should have been added a few days ago, as people were regularly adding poorly sourced or interpreted statements. That's why it is still useful for articles about living people. LinaMishima 03:01, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

personal attack?

[edit]

excuse me? i have no idea what you're talking about, reverting vandalism is not a personal attack, insulting someone or calling them or their work is a personal attack. I am assuming you are mistaken. But if you're not, I wonder well, what you're talking about. The link you provided was to the history page of the STD/STI template i created and am working on and a revert i made of vandalism when a uses removed hep C and D Qrc2006 04:47, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

he did vandalize the page, we talked about it, i asked him not to remove it. he admitted himself that Hepatitis C can be sexually transmittable and the the CDC and Kaiser catalogue it as an STD, wikipedia precedent is in my favor since Hepatitis C is in the STD category, him then removed hepatitis C, and also D which he claimed not to have a problem with is vandalism and if he does it again i will report him for violating the 3RR and i will request semiprotection for the page if i have to.

Moreover you said nothing of my claims of him being a vandal as the motive for you accusing me of personal atacks, you used my revert of his "vandalism" as i called it. What's you're deal? Qrc2006 04:57, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ohhh i see what you mean know, diff being my edit summary where i stated vandalism... well i was not personally attacking him, i was just stating in the edit summary what i in all honesty thought the previous editor has just done, i think it is vandalism, how can this situation be remediated, perhaps a peer review? Qrc2006 05:02, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

do you really think i should aplogize, i dont think i did anything wrong. we had an edit war is all, i think im right, he thinks hes right. i do have a question, why did u block me? and why did u take C off? i would have not made any further reverts if asked too, plus now i cant add any other stds.Qrc2006 05:09, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sigh, thank you. But will you unblock me from this page I will let the HepC/D arguement run its course and not do anything to it. Have you blocked Samir as well?

If you would like to be a part of this experiment, or know of someone who does, place a "Yes" or "No" below this message. Disclaimer

Hi everyone. If this is your first time filling out a survey, read this. To fill out a questionaire sheet, simply send me a post to my talk page, clearly stating your choice for each answer. For example: For Question 1, you might choose to place on the message, "Q1: A)" or "Question 1: Choice A." etc etc. It's up to you, as long as I get the general jist of what your choices are. You have around 1 week to return a survey sheet, but late entrie's will be accepted.

Remember however, your personal choices may be read whilst they are on my talk page. I will understand if you don't wish to answer some or all of the survey due to this. For this reason I have also placed an "Abstain" choice for each question. Try & answer truthfully, or don't answer at all if you can't.

However, your personal choices will not be expressed on the survey's outcome, instead it will be part of a larger finding, such as "60% of people eat chocolate, 25% never eat chocolate & 5% of people chose to abstain from answering..." I will never say, "90% of people eat chocolate, while only Fruityman said he didn't..." This would be an invasion of privacy. However, if a question has (Please explain) or (Please elaborate) as a choice, your specific answer may be used in the survey outcome, although your name will not be. If a question does not have (Please explain) as a question choice, but your intended choice is not represented on the choice list, then feel free to provide another choice which fits your description.

You're probably getting bored reading all of this so I'll wrap up. To see outcomes of the results, see my Polls subpage. Feel free to comment on anything! Feedback is always welcome. Most importantly, have fun. Topics will vary greatly & surveys may be resent out at later times to re-assess a consensus if survey numbers have grown significantly. If you know anyone who would be interested in these surveys, send them to my talk page or if you see this survey sheet, send your own answers in! Thanks. -- Spawn Man.

Please - there was no intention of sounding like an "advert for a bus company" - it is meant to be helpful information from a regular traveller to people who would like to know the actual travel options. Punjab roadways and PEPSU are govt. undertakings, and I am not their advertisement agent. Moreover, you removed the train services - I took full 30 minutes to write it down and refine it. Trains have multiple options, so the best ones have to be told, ain't it? EyeMD 05:51, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It just happens that Indians like a personal touch and do tend to pass on personal experiences, in terms of recommended lists and things to watch out for, since that really helps the next person. Getting such info beforehand helps avoid planning-disasters. The article you mentioned, on Sydney, is bereft of such knowledge, so a person trying to plan a trip will have no idea of how to go about and what to watch out for. That I think is a much need feature, which unfortunately until the restrictive policies are removed, would not be possible on Wikipedia. Maybe we need a travelogue portion on Wiki. Hi Blnguyen... further to my comments a few weeks back about Template:America's Next Top Model... since it can only be edited by an admin would you please delete all the "contestants" links and leave it at judges and cycles... or even just at cycles. Some of the contestants have already been deleted and more are in the queue... and it looks messy with some redlinked and others not. Besides, the lists can be read by going to the cycles! Anyway there's been some talk about this by the person who created the template (who was formerly anon but now goes by the name StarbuckDude) and who wants "control" of it... I think there may be "ownership" issues! -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 06:04, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The St. Clements University AfD

[edit]

Could you please close Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/St. Clements University, I withdraw the nomination and don't want it to be deleted if the process continues. Arbusto 06:30, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Solapur,Akkalkot etc.

[edit]

Ok.I am sorry for calling names to that guy in my reply. If u insist I shall delete those comments.I hope the same applies to him whenever he's talking about me with other ppl in public. Secondly,Solapur district's few villages were disputed not whole Solapur.Akkalkot was raked up by Karnataka but since its residents didnt gave a damn about it,that issue is dead.Of course u might include the details of it.But remember,Akkalkot isnt as 'disputed' as Belgaon is,so 2-3 sentences should suffice.Other point to note is,if u look at the talk pages,I dont mind Kannadi mentions on those pages, but same rule should be applied for Bidar,Bagalkot,Karwar,Athani,Nippani,Mudhol and COUNTLESS towns and villages.Frankly speaking, these edits should happen only under close scrutiny of admins as i have ZERO belief on this Kannadi editors.

I have a question to ask,can I use a photograph a copyrighted image and use it here?Note that I have not done it yet.mahawiki 05:18, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'Generally,no'?I hope we can have exceptions to it!Their's a dearth of pics in Marathi/Maharashtra related articles.mahawiki 05:49, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

[edit]

Blnguyen, sorry for my uncivil behaviour. It won't happen again. But I was really upset with Dinesh's comment on the Belgaon talk page. Anyway, thanks for the advice. I will try to be civil from now on.

Belgaum

[edit]

Talk on Belgaon article is not dead but I have confirmed about Marathi transliteration. There's is a consensus about Marathi in Belgaon Mahanagarpalika board. If ur unprotecting it,I request u to keep a keen look on it.Rather I would request u to keep it protected for possible vandalism.mahawiki 06:06, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
