Camouflage

[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your suggestions on this family of articles (and its navigation bar). I have replied on the Camouflage talk page, and have taken the liberty of moving your comments to the bottom of the talk page. I think you'll find, as I've indicated, that the points you mention are already covered pretty extensively, which is not to say that we can't improve the articles further. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 20:00, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, I'm sorry you haven't felt able to reply above or on the talk page. I felt it necessary to undo the changes you made, first and foremost for the reason I gave above, namely that the changes were not needed as the points made were already covered - it would have been better if you had discussed my reply before editing the article, given what I said already. On the question of evolution, that too is already in the article, albeit briefly because it is a large topic and has an article (indeed, a whole family of articles) to itself. On changing colour in the arctic, that too is sufficiently covered in the article. Finally, on the references you used, they are not of the best for a scientific article, where we should expect either serious textbooks or research review papers as a typical standard. I am perfectly willing to discuss and agree changes with you; that way you can argue your case and we can improve any suggested edits before they go in. Hi, I have a college assignment about the evoluiton of camouflage and we were supposed to put parts of our research paper into an already existing article on wikipedia. I understand why you had to delete it but I was putting pieces of my research paper into the article since that was my assingment for my evolution course at The Ohio State University.

Hi, thanks, yes, I understood it was an assignment and I'm happy to help you improve Wikipedia (and thus your assignment) if I can. The thing is that the parts of your assignment that you put into the article either duplicated existing facts or strayed into stuff covered in other articles.
What we need to find is something that is new to the article, relevant to camouflage, and is supported by strong scientific evidence (probably, a reference to a journal paper). I can help you with formatting, layout and British grammar, but I need something solid to work on. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:33, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, User:Yoho.28/sandbox

[edit]

Hello, Yoho.28. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "sandbox".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|User:Yoho.28/sandbox}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 20:45, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
