Information icon Please stop using talk pages such as Roswell UFO incident for general discussion of the topic. They are for discussion related to improving the article; not for use as a forum or chat room. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. See here for more information. Thank you. Sorry about that - ...improving the article. I thought that's what I was doing. Though, in explaining my reasoning and posting sources (so that it doesn't appear that I'm making this stuff up, as well as to comply with said guideline), it may have gotten a bit lengthy, but it was all pertinent to improving the article and was actually a direct response to something you said (on the same talk page) in your effort to do the same. Having said that, a lot of stuff posted on the talk page that is strictly for improving the article, can also be considered "general discussion" as well, the scope of which, in a broader sense, could improve ALL Wiki articles. What I wrote was in response to a disagreement over what is to be considered a valid source of info that reflects the "mainstream" viewpoint. Did you repost it in the appropriate area, then? On the main Roswell page, there is mention of a link to where a discussion is taking place. Is that the appropriate area? I'm just a little confused over how it was determined that what I wrote was not with the intention of improving the +article at hand...? YrdstikofSanity (talk) 22:11, 11 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, what you posted [1] was a rant about "MSM" (e.g. "the entire MSM in general conspired to dupe you, me, and every American voter..." etc.). If by "MSM" you mean main stream media, you need to be aware that Wikipedia is a mainstream encyclopedia. Wikipedia article Talk pages are not an appropriate place for you to passionately advocate that the encyclopedia as a whole should "reevaluate and redefine how a credible source is determined". You can find more appropriate forums to propose and discuss changes to basic policy at WP:VPPOL.- LuckyLouie (talk) 02:23, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I post proof along with everything I say. The reason you have posted nothing but your unqualified opinion to counter the damning evidence that this video presents, is because there is nothing you can possibly post to make it better. CNN apologizes in the video already, but you can never come back from that because none of it was due to "error". This shows beyond any inkling of a doubt, that "the entire MSM in general conspired to dupe you, me, and every American voter..." etc. So, who's "passionate" here? Seems to me it would be the one who blindly defends the MSM by deleting my entire post (instead of moving it) so no one can see it. YrdstikofSanity (talk) 21:09, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
