Hello, Yuliagrig. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Alexander Klevan, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Alexander Klevan to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, Ian.thomson (talk) 01:26, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ian, I added 2 references to the article. i'll be very thankful for your help to check if I did it right.

Thanks, Yulia

As I explained on Talk:Alexander Klevan, I tried to find sources, but none met our notability guidelines. The article needs independent sources that are specifically about Klevan. israelartguide.co.il could be used for additional information, but since it's a gallery he's affiliated with it does not establish notability. Since Masterpieceonline.com relies on user submissions, it does not meet our reliability standards.
Some of your recent edits plagiarized the source you cited, and I have undone them. Never copy text directly from a source, always paraphrase. Ian.thomson (talk) 15:22, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ian, I hope I got your point. I added new one reference - please check if it's ok

Thanks, Yulia

"Michael Hittleman Gallery" doesn't really tell the readers anything. Please read our standards for reliable sourcing. It includes things like academic books, professional newspapers, and so on. Telling people the name of a gallery doesn't really help. Ian.thomson (talk) 13:05, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So if we can't find such sources the page will be deleted?

(edit conflict)Wait, I see, you added the reference "Michael Hittleman Gallery," and then expect the reader to go looking elsewhere for the link to the Michael Hittleman Gallery you placed in another part of the page (instead of the reference tag). You need independent sources, not groups that sponsor him, not groups that make money by displaying his work. Something like an art historian's book, or a newspaper article.
And to answer your new question, articles without [reliable sources need to be deleted -- verifiability is a cornerstone of this site. Ian.thomson (talk) 13:11, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can we use as reference book in Russian?

Non-English sources can be used, but at least a chapter needs to be about the subject -- more than just mention him. Because one of the sources technically supports a single line (even though it does not establish notability), the deletion has had to become a discussion matter instead of a timed manner. More information can be found below. Ian.thomson (talk) 13:38, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Alexander Klevan for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Alexander Klevan is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alexander Klevan until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Ian.thomson (talk) 13:36, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What do you say about this source? https://www.qart.com/alexander-klevan-biographies/6280

Qart.com is a site that sells art. You need an academic source or a newspaper, not places that sell art or make money from showing art. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:01, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please check this link http://www.jewishsightseeing.com/usa/california/san_diego/tifereth_israel_synagogue/sd5-11safrai_gallery.htm

That source mentions Klevan, but is about the exhibit of which he is only a part of. You need something that is specifically about him, more than just mentioning him. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:07, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

those pages don't sell his art, just tell about him http://www.soseul.pe.kr/xe/Aura/21976 http://artodyssey1.blogspot.co.il/

and here is one more link of Israel museum http://www.imj.org.il/artcenter/newsite/en/?artist=Klevan, Alexander&list=K

soseul.pe.kr appears to be user generated and just repeats info from Klevan's blog.
Blogs are not professional sources. Anyone can make a blog. I really recommend you read our reliable sourcing guidelines.
imj.org.il appears to list any artist who would qualify for Israeli citizenship. It's not much better that citing a phone directory. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:22, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
