Writing about yourself

[edit]

I am concerned that you appear to have been editing an article about yourself, contrary to Wikipedia policy; see Writing about yourself and your work. In your recent edit to Talk:Elizabeth Báthory#Fact versus fiction you refer to my book 'Countess Dracula' - listed in the references. I assume that this book is Thorne, Tony (1997). Countess Dracula. Bloomsbury. ISBN 0-7475-2900-0. Have I misunderstood? If you are the author of this book then you should not edit the Tony Thorne article. Wikipedia has procedures for you to use to correct errors in an article about yourself, and to remove any inappropriate content.

I am not accusing you of self-promotion, but simply alerting you to this policy. I encourage you to share your expertise by contributing to other articles. It is permissible to cite your own publications. Verbcatcher (talk) 01:00, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
