Thanks for uploading Image:Stafur Raudulf.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --David Johnson [T|C] 00:30, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Icelandic sheepdog photo

[edit]

Hi, I'm curious why you replaced the existing Icelandic Sheepdog main breed photo with Image:Ulfur.jpg. Could you explain on Talk:Icelandic Sheepdog so we know what you had in mind? Thanks. Elf | Talk 03:07, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Zonjah! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 729 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Unnur Jökulsdóttir - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 21:28, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Unnur Jökulsdóttir has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced BLP on non-notable author. Note lack of is.wikipedia article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. License question

[edit]

You claimed to be the creator of File:Einar palsson.jpg and uploaded it to en.WP with a CC-SA 3.0 license, yet I'm informed here that the file was originally uploaded to IS.WP with a license equivalent to PD. I'm trying to sort out the difference in licensing. Can you help?--SPhilbrickT 16:15, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I now see that you were the one who uploaded it to IS.WP. My understanding is that if a file is licensed PD, it cannot then be licensed as CC-SA 3.0. I am cleaning up files that appear on both EN.WP and Commons, and would like to delete the EN.WP version, as it does appear on Commons. I'm cannot delete files when the license is incompatible, but as you are the author, if you give me permission, I can delete it. Is it OK? (Just to be clear, the file won't go away, it will remain on Commons, for anyone to use.)--SPhilbrickT 16:22, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
